  A question for the shunned re: hide or seek

  so here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.

  do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

  they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

  I don't have family in but DA'd a year ago. Some JW's are such cowards they literally run away from me in my hometown.

  I say do whatever brings you peace on a case by case basis, especially with relatives or former close friends. Personal peace is the main thing. Just my two cents.

  last night i ran into a former elder friend, he is in his late 70s.

  he asked how i was doing and i asked how he was doing.

  then out of the blue he tells me; .

  I told the elders in my DA meeting with them a year ago " ...not to mention this overlapping generation doctrine which nobody understands." All I got back were blank looks and no response to my statement.

  Deconstructing Splanes 'Generation' explanation

  at around 4 minutes into the september 2015 video splane said "for the man and the baby to be part of josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during joseph's lifespan.".

  this is the lynchpin of the wt argument, that two lives must overlap to be considered the same generation.. let's take an example of twins who are born just a few minutes apart.

  obviously, these twins are the same generation as each other.

  I have to say I enjoy your posts Searcher.

  Any JW would be tongue-tied at the door if they were told the scriptures say to be Witnesses of Christ. As we all know they just want to count time and place magazines. Nothing really spiritual is actually going on in the field service.

  I have to say that if you never want the JW's to bother you again from my experience DA'ing is the way to do it. Of course you have to ask yourself the question "Will I miss them?".

  It's been a year for me since my resignation. I was terrified a little bit a time or two after but God has really blessed me with quiet. Those people were such a neurotic influence in my life for the most part.

  The thing is you have to start your life COMPLETELY over again in every way as an apostate. They literally run while walking from me on the street if I happen to see them. As the saying goes "Choose wisely..."
