so, something amazing happened recently.
i recently met with an old and very good friend of mine.
In my case I felt I had little to lose since I didn't care for most of the "friends" anyway. It was just a social club in my opinion and I was NOT a member. I turned in my DA Letter in September of last year and am coming up on my 6 month anniversary of no longer being a JW.
Honestly the people that shun you were not really your friends anyway, even if they are good people. Why? Because you can't be your true self. That's just my two cents.

we have spent the last few weeks in training at the montgomery facility (near walkill) there are 6 couples that were trained to go on the road as ldc field representatives of the branch.
I agree with Data Dog. I think he nailed it on the head.
These seem to be property appraisals free of charge for some kind of database back at headquarters. Once all the information is compiled they can start maximizing revenue as all good property management companies do. . All profit driven since more and more people are fed up with this religion generally speaking IMHO.
i want to retire.

A significant portion of the human population creates their own misery and perpetually dwells in it. Better to complain than actually make any effort to change. That would require effort and some self-enlightenment.
I picture negative people as energy vampires that want to suck me dry as a victim. So the thought came to me to pretend I have an energy field around me that they can't penetrate with their bad vibes. Also keeping my distance away from them of course. Good luck in your fight against insanity!
day after day jws are constantly fighting with me over the internet that the nwt is the most accurate translation and then they prove it by quoting scholars from the watchtower magazines.
they tell me i'm biased and there rendering of john 1:1 as "a god" is approved by scholars but i have researched there so called "supporters" and i have found they have tooken what they said out of context to twist the scriptures to there liking.. .
dr. julius r. mantey (who is even recognized by the watchtower as a greek scholar since they quote his book on page 1158 of their kingdom interlinear translation): calls the watchtower translation of john 1:1 "a grossly misleading translation.
Just wanted to say what a pastor at my church said this past Sunday. "Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. Just because we don't understand it, doesn't mean it's not true."
And yes it is psychologically taxing to be a JW. How much relief there is by experiencing the grace of God through Jesus Christ.

this is the quality spiritual food that the governing body claims is the basis for jesus appointing it as the faithful and discreet slave in 1919 according to peter gregerson in his talk on youtube.. from what i understand there are some really fantastical claims and ideas in it.
there is no way they are appointed by god if this is the basis for the appointment.

This is the quality spiritual food that the Governing Body claims is the basis for Jesus appointing it as the faithful and discreet slave in 1919 according to Peter Gregerson in his talk on Youtube.
From what I understand there are some really fantastical claims and ideas in it. There is no way they are appointed by God if this is the basis for the appointment. Here is the link below. Peace to all.

BucketShopBill--I will probably be attending the one church I mentioned since they believe in salvation through the grace of Jesus Christ alone and have wonderful music. I was really sick of all the boring and mindless Kingdom Melodies in the new songbook praising the Governing Body.
Fernando---I appreciate your comment, however I emphasized to the elder that I didn't want to cause any problems in the congregation. I told him if anyone called me, however, that would be different. He understood. A lot of the "friends" are in such denial that it seemed to be an alternate universe at the kingdom hall.
Anyone who wishes to use this letter for their own purposes please, please, please do so. My intent was to stand up in a kind but firm way to the bullying tactics of the Watchtower Society.

Thank you for your comment. But most of the JW's I've known over the past 20 years have various mental health issues. My elder friend said at least 1/3 of the congregation was on antidepressants, maybe more. Not to mention how many JW's are UNfriendly. So my peace of mind has actually increased in the past two days. Looking forward to not dealing with weird-acting people will do that for you.

I wrote the letter a week ago and was holding on to it. I've faded off and on for the past few months and just decided it was time to do it since the elder stopped by my house and invited me to lunch.
