  What was your eye opening moment?

  if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

  i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.

  i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

  I began to see that many local elders and JWs were breaking the law regularly, it was common knowledge.

  I tried to "deal with this" by speaking to the elders and two different COs.

  Nothing happened except more law breaking. I confronted an elder about the issue while we were out in service. He told me, "as a body of elders" they had decided to "ignore the situation". His words.
  I was furious. It took every bit of my self control to stay out in service that day. I was SO ready to go home. I was very angry. JW elders hide illegals in the congregations.

  I resigned as a MS very shortly after that and then did an accelerated fade.

  Then I found the "apostate web sites". Game Over.

  At the mouth of 2-3 witnesses a matter is established .Gods word the bible proves a generation is 50 years +, or - 5 years

  jehovah`s witnesses make a big deal about the 2 or 3 witnesses in judicial decisions yet they ignore that evidence when it suits them.. firstly :.

  regarding the length of a generation matthew ch.1:17 gives a strong clue ,their are 3 lots of 14 generations mentioned which equal 42 generations from the time of abraham to jesus .. watchtower publications give abrahams birth as 2018 bc......they also give jesus birth as of 2 bc a period of 2016 years .

  Bible Chronology, Egyptology and the Great Flood

  fact: bible chronology says the flood occurred between 2348 and 2370 bce, depending on which scholar you listen to.

  fact: the great pyramid of giza was constructed 200 years before, in c. 2560 bce..

  so, if you believe in a literal interpretation of noah's flood, you believe that the egyptians built a great civilization, were destroyed by the flood in 2370 bce, and then somehow, they reappeared immediately after the flood, picked right back up where they left off without skipping a cultural beat.. oh, and isn't it ironic that legitimately studying the great pyramid of giza debunks jw mythology now?

  It saddens me that most of the JWs I've known don't take an interest in much of anything ( except hiding their double life )...

  Residence fire damages building at Bethel in Congo (Africa)

  word is there was a fire yesterday at a residence building at congo bethel in africa.

  lots of damage, a hundred or so out of a place to stay.

  no one injured.

  Does the GB also do Fieldservice?

  the wt study of may stated that no one is exempt from doing fieldservice.does that mean the gb also does fieldservice?and dont give me any if that "no they only give us insrtuction bullshit" because that would mean not everything applies to everyone, and thats never the case in the jw organisation!

  Our hall is asking for money...

  i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.

  we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.

  it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

  Switching Halls

  it's time for me and the mrs. to get the hell outta dodge.

  recently my hall has undergone major management changes and the atmosphere is..less than ideal.

  i'm getting multiple calls a week asking to set up a time to meet, i've politely declined but these guys aren't taking a hint.

  There are many older ones in my area where I used to attend the meetings.

  I have been watching as they slowly die off before me. Seems like about 3-4 a year die.
  Just in the last few years there have been 4 elders and one MS that have died in my old hall alone.

  This does not seem to alarm the JWs that are still in.

  I would say there are at least 10 more in my old hall alone, that if they they died today, it would surprise no one. I noticed this and here I am... Approaching 50 with an older wife and that's it.

  I have many very diverse and fulfilling interests that keep me going.

  JWs embrace the LIE that death is not normal and they can cheat it.
  The longer you stay indoctrinated, the more time you are wasting.
  Time that you can never get back. Don't live on death row, get out and live!!
