These stories must be told.
People are leaving and they'll need comfort like we did.
Always good to check in and offer something if possible.
you can't move forward to a new, more interesting, possibly much happier life, if you're still looking behind at the former life.. there is so much obsession on here about what the wtbts is doing, and discussing all the forms of injustice and bullshit in the wtbts, or how to bring down the wtbts.
yes, their doctrines are crazy and they are a cult and cruel to boot.
move on.

i had a thought today that might prove interesting.
i'm wondering if there are any illegal immigrants who are witnesses?
surely it would be a great position to be in as an illegal immigrant because you could play up your plight and prey on the sympathies of others within the congregation.
This issue may be what first started to open my eyes.
---
I'm also in construction.
An illegal was doing work and literally taking my jobs by bidding at less than half my price.
I reported this to the elders and to a first then second CO.
After quite some time, maybe 18 months, I was out in service with an elder and I asked what was going on with the lawbreaker.
He said, "As a body of elders, we have decided to ignore this"...
I was furious. Almost asked to be taken home right then and there.
After this, I started plotting my escape.
---
Hypocrisy. Illegals don't have state/local licenses, no insurance, no driver's license, no bond, no workman's comp, don't pay taxes and don't care one bit.
It's breaking the law(s).
---
He moved back to the spanish hall, so "problem solved".
This is a guy that admitted to one of the elders that, he planned a vacation to the USA, but "decided not to go home".
He was an elder in Mexico, FYI.
Premeditated criminal activity. I'm sure I just misunderstood the situation...
well they didn't fully teach me ttatt but helped me on the way.............. first thing i do in the morning after waking up is grinding some nice coffee beans and getting the brew started while i take a hot shower.
after the shower i like to clean out all the nasty wax out of my ears with a q-tip (or cotton swab for those not familiar with that term).. while cleaning out my ears i would think about how nice it is we have things like q-tips and coffee filters that make life more enjoyable but at the same time realize that somebody somewhere is in a factory making these.. i can't imagine a child saying "when i grow up i want to work in a factory making coffee filters".
the people who end up really doing that as adults did not set that to be a life goal.
It takes quite a bit of manpower to run the world.
Steel mining/refining ( steel is in nearly everything and it's widespread use since about 1874 is what built the industrial and tech revolutions ).
Who gets those jobs?
---
Then there's the job of burying all the 8 billion bodies, but that's another story.
Good morning RPP!
my situation right now is trying that how my friend and parents that the jw's are not the true religion.
i've shown numerous examples of flip flopped doctrine, false predicions, the validity of the jesus choosing the bible students in 1919 and more.
but it seems that although the recognize these mistakes they ask me, "aren't you happy the organization is making progress?
I'm trying to just ask them to prove they 100% have the truth using only the bible.
Their being unable to do this could make them start to think.
yes it happen again with our youngest son.
this last monday we got a letter from him telling us how unloving we are because we are no longer jw.
cult and not had kids.
I like the idea of writing a letter.
---
On a side note:
I also like the idea of ignoring the whole shunning thing.
Why respect their hideous and hateful arrangement?
you know, like a little "jwfacts" post-it.. you'd have to be stealthy.. .
I wish I could have done something before making my escape.
i'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried to contact inactive or disfellowshipped jws in their area.
there are many faders in our area.
there is also a large born-in family that had many leave who were labeled as apostates.
I've connected with many in and outside my area.
Went to the Tahoe gathering this past Summer.
It nice to talk things through with people that "get it".

i submitted a letter to the local k hall, explaining that i no longer believe my baptism as a jw is valid, based on my current bible knowlege.
and i wish to be no longer considered a baptised [in this organization], jw, but simply a christain who studies the bible.. and then would continue to attend meetings?.
they couldnt prevent me, its open to the public.. .
If you were baptized under the age of 18, could you hire a lawyer to nullify the "contract" with this corporation?
Minors can't enter into legal contracts~
that's a crazy question.. they really mean, "do you regret your decesion to leave".. ---.
it's just an ice breaker to become nosy into one's personal life.. ---.
btw, last time i was asked this, no, everytime i'm asked this i reply with: "i'm never coming back".. they seem to hear that.. .
