What’s Your View On Self Defense?
by minimus inif someone comes to you with a knife or a gun, would you defend yourself if you could?
if someone tried to beat you up , would you physically engage, run away or just try to talk the person out of beating you up or robbing you?
if you did have a gun to defend yourself would you shoot to kill or would you simply aim for the ankle to incapacitate the person?

What’s Your View On Self Defense? - well, I've got to functional legs, so I would generally walk or run away if trouble started up in a public area.
My own home is a different matter. I don't own a gun so if there was any serious trouble in my own home, I could use a knife.

How long did people worship Zeus? Was it longer than Christianity's 2000 years? - I don't know.
But the polytheism and sun-worship of the Egyptians lasted longer than Christianity's 2,000 years.

If you want to fix the problem get to the root (cont'd) - what we have is a system that treats black people like children. It infantilises them.
There's no incentive for the black father to stay with his wife/girlfriend because the woman will get welfare cheques. Thus, black families are dependent on government help. I can't remember the exact stats, but at the time of emancipation about 70% of black families were two-parent; today that figure is about 35%.
So, that means approx. two thirds of black kids today in the US grow up in single-parent (typically the mother) families. Lack of a positive role model leads the kids into gangs, it teaches the kids to actively ignore authorities like teachers and cops, etc.
Social welfare programs have destroyed the black family.
Popular claims by establishment figures of 'systemic racism' also infantilises black people. How? - well it takes away any accountability on their part. Anything bad happens, a black person is unsuccessful at a job interview - that's 'systemic racism!', lol. Also, calling a society 'systemically racist' means society can't be fixed. An actual racist individual can be punished but vague claims of 'systemic racism' can't be fixed or improved. It's no surprise that BLM want to do away with current US society and replace it with some kinda wacked-out socialist utopia bullcrap.
It's a mess and needs to be urgently addressed.
Systemic racism is just a label, it has nothing to do with this issue. Sure, black people went to the bottom of society after slavery was abolished but how could it be anything else? And slavery itself isn't 'systemic racism'. All people of all colours bought and sold slaves. <--- know your history.

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

Education system has always been about indoctrination - not sure about this, especially at university level and in Western countries.
If you want to fix the problem get to the root - systemic race based poverty and penalizing drug addiction - there is no systemic racism in the US. Racism does exist but the root goes to the African-American population. Fatherless children is a big factor. So is black culture - education is sneered at (US education is one of the best in the world), black kids pursuing education are 'acting white'.

Do You Think White People Are Being Discriminated Against?
by minimus insome call it reverse discrimination.
whatever you want to refer to as, in your opinion, are white people being unfairly picked on?
it seems acceptable that if you are white you are viewed with disdain.

Not all "discrimination" is bad
^^^ This, just this.
We, as responsible adults, discriminate all the time. I chose to go to Bolton uni, not Manchester Metropolitan. I discriminated in favour of one, and against the other.
Discrimination isn't a dirty word per se. 'Flange' is a dirty word, but 'discrimination' isn't.

I don't really feel sorry for anybody, TBH.
There's clearly lots to unpack re this issue.
Most cops are decent public servants but some are incompetent or bad.
There must be decent training for cops before they go out on patrol. Any cops who cross the line should be properly punished after a fair trial.
Everyone deserves a fair trial. Morons who stir up sh1t like Maxine Waters should be punished. AFAIK, she's gonna get away with her rhetoric. This brings me to another point - the mainstream media. At the moment, the MSM seems to be anti-cop. There needs to be fair and accurate journalism, but we rarely get that.
Last but by no means least - citizens should comply with cops. The media in general aren't saying this but it's very important. People will continue to be shot by police because they're wannabe thugs, thinking they're playing Grand Theft Auto. If the cops shoot them, there's no reset button. This is life, not some f**king video game.
*rant over*

What police have to deal with
by LoveUniHateExams inso, the actions of cops have come under scrutiny in recent days, what with the trial of derek chauvin and the death of daunte wright.
i certainly hope justice is served in both those cases.. what is easy for people to forget, is just what police officers have to deal with on a regular basis, during their interactions with citizens.. here's a video breaking down one such interaction.. a car owner was driving his car but the tags weren't legally displayed.
cops wanted him to pull over but the driver continued driving for a mile and a half with a police car following with sirens and lights.

@Justmemorph - here's what should be done, as a social experiment.
First, explain and warn local people of a chosen city of this experiment, give them time to leave if they want to.
In one US city the police should be defunded. All cops should leave, get the f**k outta there.
And you and people who agree with you should go live there.
Sounds good to me ...
