That's all well and good, Truth Be Known, and your comment makes some good points.
Well, could I volunteer with my local police?
I'm a white male living in Bolton, UK.
Could I stop and search somebody if I suspected that person of carrying a knife?
recently black lives matter representatives have encouraged people to spit in law enforcement officials foods.
some people are going into police stations and trying to kill innocent officers.
federal officials are marked for death because they try to administer the law.. what is your opinion of this type of lawlessness?.

jimmy saville not being exposed until after he died.
(too well connected with royalty & establishment figures?).
the charities comission "enquiry" into the abuse by jw's resulted in nothing more than a telling-off for the "charity".. the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse (https://www.iicsa.org.uk) has so far been a damp squib.. the muslim paedophile gangs in england were tacitly approved of by police & social services.
Is paedophilia covered up in the UK? - I'm not sure it's covered up per se.
But it's obvious that rich and powerful people get away with a lot of bad stuff - including child sex abuse.
Your example of Jimmy Savile is spot-on; he should have been investigated and prosecuted when he was still alive.
i personally hate it!
i've tried for years to find a way to enjoy it, but i do not.
i tried.. at the end of the day i feel its just people getting there ego stroked and miss-information.
I like FaceBook and I like this site. YouTube is pretty good, too.
But I have never had a Twitter account and have no plans to create one. Twitter sounds like a load of crap to me.
hi i’ve been learning to draw portraits, and one style i had a go at when drawing young children was a sort of kawaii or cute japanese style.
i wanted to make gifts of these drawings so looked into writing in japanese script to add to the aesthetic.. but oh wow!!
three types of script?!!
I'm an amateur linguist and I've looked into Japanese.
You're right, it has three scripts - one is Chinese characters (used for writing words), one is Katagana (used for writing foreign words and grammatical particles Chinese doesn't have) and the other is Kirigana (used for emphasis, a bit like our use of Italics).
The Japanese writing system would be very hard to learn - Chinese characters are pictograms, i.e. there's no way of telling how they're pronounced.
However, Japanese pronunciation is relatively easy, from what I remember.

I fully support the police.
There are some bad apples in the police force but most are decent officers, doing their jobs under difficult circumstances.
The made-up racist instances on both sides of the Atlantic don't help.
(Here in the UK, police shot and killed Mark Duggan in 2011 in Tottenham, north London. The cops thought Duggan had a gun on him - it turned out he'd thrown it in a bush by the roadside before the police caught up with him. The police weren't being 'racist' here - they were just doing their job. It didn't stop people rioting across London and other parts of Britain. There were people from other parts of London who didn't know Mark Duggan at all, breaking into Burger King and McDonald's and flipping themselves a few burgers with fries on the side! XD Jewellery shops got smashed and burgled, too. The Turkish and Sikh shop owners had the right idea - they stood outside their shops holding swords.)

any minority group who bring such cases because they have been "offended" by a comment or a joke about their precious "alternate" lifestyle, should take a few steps back and admit what they are really demanding - a total ban on everyone's freedom of speech, except their's!
Good news - the High Court found that Harry Miller's 'transphobic' tweets were lawful and that the police interfered with his right to freedom of expression.
Hopefully this will mark some kind of turning point and return to common sense ...

I'd just politely but firmly affirm my legal rights by stating that I did not wish to discuss the matter with them - I get where you're coming from. Some people do exactly that and that's fine.
But the police would then check your business, check your tax payments, check for anything illegal ... watch you to see if you break the law in any way ...

Re talking to the police in the first instance: I'm a bit surprised Mr. Miller never informed the police that he did not wish to discuss the matter with them - the police asked him to appear for a 'voluntary chat'.
The usual tactic by the police if someone refuses the voluntary chat (which people can legally do) is for the police then to go through the person of interest's affairs and try to pin anything illegal on that person. If they find nothing illegal, they'll watch that person until he breaks the law.
It's disgusting behaviour from the police - they should be solving actual crimes.
'Checking people's thinking' goes beyond their remit. People are free to think whatever the hell they like.

Just as an aside, I posted a comment on facebook recently that basically said:
'Actually, some women want to keep their safe spaces free of biological males. This is an issue that needs to be discussed.'
I got some interesting discussions with two or three people, but one guy (who claimed to be a lecturer on Statistics) was shitposting, taking the p*ss out of me, etc.
I called him out on his childish comments. He ended up threatening and then claiming to have doxed me and sent emails to my old uni. He also called me a 'p*ssant TERF c*nt'. I hadn't actually mentioned transgender people at all up till that point.
Also, I'm not actually a TERF or even a feminist! XD
I guess he was annoyed because I kept saying 'biological males'.
He hit the roof after I responded to his comment: 'I don't tolerate TERF c*nts' (i.e. me), because I responded by saying 'sorry, you have to tolerate me because I've done nothing illegal'. XD
I pointed out to him that I'd actually said a number of times that society should be able to accommodate intersex people AND still have female-only spaces for those women who want them but, like I said, he went nuts.
Just goes to show there are real extremists out there ...
PS - I recognised a name who went through a lot of my comments in that discussion because this person liked a lot of them. I think it was an administrator from Bolton Uni.

Harry Miller appeared on Triggernometry for a full hour. He's basically an ex-copper who values freedom of speech.
Here's his appearance on Triggernometry, fascinating viewing ...
