The City of Nazareth, and interesting find.
by Crazyguy ini was watching a video on youtube about chistianity and its founding and it came to my attention that the city of nazareth did not even excist when jesus was said to be alive.
it was'nt really anything accept a cemetary until about 200 ad.
so just like the city of goshen were the israelites were said to be from when they left egypt during the exodus, looks like another major flaw in the bible..

Ray Franz - is he REALLY a hero?
by baltar447 inon one hand, he's enlightnened many to the internal circle jerk that is the governing body (circa the 70s).. but if there's one reason that can be pointed to for the jws becoming full on cult, it's ray franz.
without him leaving in the manner he did, and stirring the pot, they might not have change the rule (retroatively i might add) on shunning of disassociated ones.
they specifically changed that so they could remove him and eliminate his influence.. his actions single handedly have created the situation where we have to fade, evade, leave marriages, say goodbye to family, just because we don't buy the jw bullsh!t anymore.

The stark contrast between Science and Christianity says it all.
by Island Man injesus prayed that all his followers be united as one.
but we see christianity divided into thousands of denominations.
this division is partly due to the fact that the book that christianity claims is the truth, the inspired word of a supremely wise god, was not written in a sufficiently unambiguous manner as to make its one true meaning indisputably clear throughout.. by contrast take a field of science - say physics.

Did the WT ever unofficially ban Kal-El?
by HowTheBibleWasCreated ina few years ago avatar was 'demonized' by the wt.
in reality their argument had an extreme ignorance of hinduism and a poor knowledge of modern langauge (avatar means something else nowadays.... ).
but anyway when i was growing up my parents recorded the 4 supermen movies on to video tape as they were played on tv.

What would this world be like today , if their was never , ever , any concept of a GOD or a Creator .?
by smiddy ingiven the fact that religion has been such a divisive force throughout history amongst all nations and tribes of the earth , i wonder how things might have been different had their been no god / creator / religion in the mix.. of course religion alone has not been the cause of all mankinds troubles & conflicts with each other , nationalism , polotics , racism , to name a few are also guilty of these problems.. but it seems to me that religion , beleif in a creator / god and its consequences of such a beleif are the cheif causes of mankinds troubles.. remember this is your thoughts if a creator , god , religion didnt exist in human conscience .. what are your thoughts ?.
smiddy.

by villagegirl inthe new announcement in august is the redesign of the watchtower organization.
into a cargo cult https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmlye2ks0-y.
it will be an easy sell the the rank and file because of the similarities of the watchtower to these cults.. after world war ii anthropologists discovered that an unusual religion had developed among.

A glaring example of how Watchtower's insertion of "Jehovah" corrupts the NT
by Island Man in"the rnwt replaces "kyrios" (lord) with "jehovah" in translating romans 14:8 as follows:.
"for if we live, we live to jehovah,*+ and if we die, we die to jehovah.
* so both if we live and if we die, we belong to jehovah.".

Watchtower- Gnosticism
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inbefore i post this let me say i'm an atheist (though i have a respect for buddism and quantum mysticism).
the wikepedia definition of gnosticism is: "religions that taught that people should shun the material world created by the demiurge and embrace the spiritual world.
[1] gnostic ideas influenced many ancient religions[2] that teach that gnosis (variously interpreted as knowledge, enlightenment, salvation, emancipation or 'oneness with god') may be reached by practicingphilanthropy to the point of personal poverty, sexual abstinence (as far as possible for hearers, completely for initiates) and diligently searching forwisdom by helping others".
