I also think that your mind can play incredible tricks on you when you are in grief. I had to put my much loved cat to sleep, which was so hard, and I woke up several times absolutely seeing him on my bed, in his usual spot. He was definately there, as large as life..
But I was able to accept that was simply my mind dealing with grief and guilt....so hard.....I can't imagine how hard it must be to loose your child.

yes, there probably was some guy that Jesus was based on. I'm a history buff, and I like roman history. around that time there were a bucketload of nuts claiming to be the messiah. People who believe themselves oppressed always have leaders appearing and disappearing.
I think that all historical fairy tale people such as robin hood, Jesus, Mohammed, Arthur, all have some basis in a real person, BUT, and this is the big one, some dude saying, treat other people nicely, etc etc, is not that novel in the history of our species. Nor is that a basis for claiming divinity.
the only truth In the accounts of supernatural activity is the desperate need of our species to find meaning in an otherwise meaningless life, and the incredible evil of those who debilberatly exploit others grief and pain.
The one strength science does have is that it constantly tests itself and says , we just don't know... but it provides a much better option than attempting to use a fairy tale figure to explain the otherwise unexplainable.

Yes you will inherit a Land flowing with Milk & Honey, but did i forget to mention about Leprosy?
by Quarterback inthis week's bible highlights, as well as last week indicated that the promise land wasn't so fortunate as thought.
this week it mentions premature balding.
if you were balding prematurely, you had to see the priests.

quarterback, don't make the mistake of believing all you read... name one miracle that can be proved? I spend a lot of tim. in a developing country, and I have lost count of the amount of miracles I hear of ... and thats in the twenty first century...

Finally some good news for us nonbeleivers! :)
by suavojr inpope francis assures atheists: you dont have to believe in god to go to heaven.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/pope-francis-assures-atheists-you-dont-have-to-believe-in-god-to-go-to-heaven-8810062.html.
in comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, pope francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of la repubblica newspaper, eugenio scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by god if they followed their consciences.. responding to a list of questions published in the paper by mr scalfari, who is not a roman catholic, francis wrote: you ask me if the god of the christians forgives those who dont believe and who dont seek the faith.

I never thought I would live to say this, but this pope is awesome. I suppose this is why they elect such old popes, they have less opportunity to make changes.....

If it weren't illegal...
by Rattigan350 ini was listening to a circuit overseer's talk and he mentioned about how a sister wanted to simplify.
she had a couple of dogs.
