have any of you heard of anything like this.
i remember an ex jw from ohio taking video of a former kingdom hall that is now a church.
apparently the society sold it to the church.
punkofnice - hahaha
apart from the interesting block color change for the title strip on the front page.... the new 2017 wt mag has some new (updated printing figures):.
2016: produced each issue: 58,987,000 available in 282 languages .
2017: produced each issue: 61,651,000 available in 294 languages.
"Number of placements" is only recorded on publisher record cards, which are never reviewed by the branch - only elders & COs.
And, due to the wide range of things it includes - from single sheet invites through to printed books - it's a virtually meaningless figure anyway now.
Of course it was done to cover up the decrease in magazine placements
Remeber tthey used to offer two pairs each month - ie four 32 page magazines each month - now they offer just one single 16 page magazine - even if you have the same number of 'interested' people to call on, that's still a 75% placement drop each month
I suspect it was also done to disincentivize publishers from placing too many printed magazines - a single page tract counts the same and is easier to leave with someone - and also to disincentivize them from placing too many - expensive to produce - printed books just so that it 'looks good' on their report card.
november 1, 2016 to all bodies of elders re: using and maintaining kingdom halls.

Renting a kingdumb hall for long-term use is a current thing? Or is it becoming more common as they sell off the halls?
It's rare in the US but is pretty common in Europe, especially in the bigger cities.
And remember this will be an international 'catch-all' letter, so they need to cover all bases.

Hi punkofnice
They have one hall that remains in Orton
Ah yeah, cool, also Whittlesey?
It was also the one where they intended lying to the local authorities that they had a 'caretakers flat', rather than tell the truth that it was a flat for the CO
No!
CO's don't clean
And actually it's clearly marked up with the Council as being 'Minister's accommodation' and NOT a 'caretaker.'
"Demolition and rebuild of existing Place of Worship to include Minister's accommodation, Former Welland Gospel Hall St Pauls Road New England Peterborough."
The CO would count as a Minister and he serves the local area as well as the congregations who actually meet on site.

Peterborough, UK. One KH is now a Pentecostal church. One is a Mosque. One is owned by Muslims but I'm not sure what for. One hall they now use was a Plymouth brethren church. They are such hypocrites. You couldn't make it up.
They seem to have sold (or are selling) all the KH's in Peterborough and moved all the congrgeations into a centrally located spanking new double Kingdom Hall in the St Paul's Road

Consolidation!

seems like jwleaks still has the Kingdom Hall at 255 Furnace St, Marshfield, MA 2050

at watchtowers website there is an undated article under "helping the community" relating how in 2015, jw's from russia participated in the 'springtime beautification of the city'.
it is not stated but more than likely this had to do with preparations for some assembly or something.
a group of witness going out to clean the community just for goodwill - i don't see it happening.

If you want the number of delivered/placed magazines, turn to the Yearbook or similar publication.
No!
That's yet another card in the WT's house of cards that's fallen!
As of 1st January 2016 all 'placements' - magazines, books, DVDs, tracts, leaflets in both physical and electronic format have been lumped together as just one figure on the report!
Another way the WT's falling house of cards is fudging the figures!
