REAL Community service now allowed?
by ab.ortega inat watchtowers website there is an undated article under "helping the community" relating how in 2015, jw's from russia participated in the 'springtime beautification of the city'.
it is not stated but more than likely this had to do with preparations for some assembly or something.
a group of witness going out to clean the community just for goodwill - i don't see it happening.

Hi TheOldHippie
If you want the number of delivered/placed magazines, turn to the Yearbook or similar publication.
No!
That's yet another card in the WT's house of cards that's fallen!
As of 1st January 2016 all 'placements' - magazines, books, DVDs, tracts, leaflets in both physical and electronic format have been lumped together as just one figure on the report!
Another way the WT's falling house of cards is fudging the figures!

Yeah, but it’s all good, he created jobs right?
I specifically didn't say 'good' - I said 'not bad' - it's all relative
How about some community work. I’m sure there are plenty of things he could have done with that money. For instance, he could have created free reading and writing classes, invested in a soup kitchen, or even invested in small local businesses and create jobs for years.
Why? And stop the WT's house of cards falling down? If that had been done back then, would the WT be on the brink of disappearing now? Or would it have bolstered the WT over the years? Is that what you want??

Often I heard in KH , that jw.org replace publication ... but in fact when you look at Alexa Web Ranking ... we see other thing ... no increase at jw.org ... stagnation
stagnation or decrease?

I don't think there's really much new in this letter, apart from the obvious realization that some dodo has had that it might just be easier to have one letter with all the information in one place rather than spreading it all about in NINETEEN letters from the last TWENTY-FIVE YEARS.
After all, the WT's house of cards is falling down, so why have a house of letters instead when just one will do
1. This letter has been added to the list of policy letters that will be cited in Index to Letters for Bodies of Elders (S-22) and replaces the letters dated January 1, 1991; November 2, 1995; April 15, 1997; May 30, 2000; July 30, 2002; August 1, 2003; December 31, 2005; January 8, 2008; December 11, 2009; December 20, 2009; June 11, 2011; April 8, 2014; June 9, 2014; March 30, 2015; October 14, 2015; October 15, 2015; October 26, 2015; May 13, 2016; and September 23, 2016; to all bodies of elders.

Hi jwfacts
Printing an additional 16 million tractazines per issue has zero affect on growth.
[snip]
JW's use the huge number of magazines printed
No!
that's the point, printing has DECREASED, and continues to decrease!
that's why WT uses the term 'produced', to included electronic downloads rather than just physical copies.
which means that the decrease in physical printing matches the decrease that WT is facing as their house of cards fall down.
Actually you could say the reverse is happening - that the number of baptisms is actually holding up despite a decrease in physical printing of the magazines.

Worship of Men and Emphasis on Titles
by HereIgo ini remember a few years back at a circuit assembly, a few bros were introducing themselves to the co, they made sure to mention that they were an ms or an elder from such and such cong.
i was also an ms, but was the only one that introduced themselves by just my first name.
i was so irritated and blown away at the arrogance by these bros, trying to impress men with titles!

Hi ttdtt
I think the announcements at the Conventions and Assemblies is more about adding weight to the words the guy is going to say, and not an ego thing. (By the way its in the instructions for the talks and for the chairman)
The convention programmes used to be printed for each location individually and included the names of the speakers (and congregation?) next to their item/talk - that stopped a number of years ago and just a generic programme is printed nowadays.
The announcing of the name along with their congregation name or circuit (if a Circuit Overseer) or if they're in Bethel etc is fine - it's when they start saying how many years they've served doing this and so many years doing that when it grates.
But it depends how it's done, occassional exceptions could be made, perhaps for 'human interest' reasons - maybe adding they used to be a missionary in such-and-such country if it was fairly unique, or perhaps knowledging the brother's personal situation that would add weight to his talk.Otherwise it just sounds like a competition - which speaker has done the 'most' and the 'longest' whatever

I think last year the 2016 Yearbook came out online maybe December 25, on a Friday. (Funny, I know, but I think that was the day).
Yes, seems right - unfortunately this forum's software seems to only show how long ago a post was originally posted - ie '10 months ago', but according to the link below, Friday 25 December 2015 seems correct.
