  Does forever mean forever?

  1 chronicles 28:9 "and you, my son solomon, acknowledge the god of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.

  if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

  is the word "forever" literal or figurative?

  What comforts you when you no longer believe in a ressurrection ?

  our family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.

  as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.

  we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.

  If your idea of charity work is handing out WT publications and starting studies...

  If it takes you 5 min. to walk up a drive way or you feel a compulsion to tie your shoes before knocking at a door...

  If you start to panic if you are left alone with a member of the opposite sex because there is no chaperone

  if when referring to "where the need is greater",  you are not talking about Helping people in "physical" need.

  If you know the locations of all the gas stations and laundry mats from your house to the Kingdom Hall.

  i was expecting you, but not so early in the day.. i saw you walk up to my neighbor fred's house last week while i was out getting the newspaper, once again tossed into the bushes by a careless newspaper boy.

  today, it's the usual routine of rising at dawn, fetching the paper from the bushes -- where else?

  -- and settling into my comfy, tattered wing back with the first of several cups of coffee.

  hi all, i haven't posted here in a while, felt like a break and have been insanely busy, i don't think too much about jw stuff now, but wanted to pop in anyway.

  have i missed anything recently?.

  i am very happy, much to my surprise, i think it would be nice to go back to the end of 2013 and tell the depressed and lonely version of me that he can't even comprehend how good life could be.

  Gave my first hour talk sunday before last

  i started going door to door at age 5 and was giving no.

  2 talks by age 7. during the 8 years i was an active adult jw i was never a ms or elder (although i was a regular pioneer once).

  so, i never qualified to give an hour talk.

  Musical video on JW-TV February monthly program - must see !!

  you must see the musical video at the end of this month program (aprox.

  at 1:04:30).... i don't like to use "must" but this is wow... if you think they couldn't get any lower... just be prepared...

  Look at it from their point of view. It must be nice to watch something that is not making you feel guilty or someone saying something negative.

  This is a feel good song that is thrown in after a bunch of guilt inducing pieces. 

  Anything different will be appreciated.

  We do something similar at workshops and trainings I go to for work.  They throw some humor or entertainment in because your attention starts wandering, then they hit you with "serious"stuff when you are relaxed and can refocus.

  Magazine placements

  this morning we opened our front door to find 5 magazines, 4 awakes and 1 watchtower left there.

  someone must have been counselled about not placing enough literature.

  we never heard them knock and we are not that deaf, at least we didn't think so.
