there was an era when placards were put in storefront windows and bombastic sermons were delivered by radio.
I remember in 2007 going and leaving invitations for the convention in Southern California and it was 100degrees, wearing a tie and sweating like a pig and was thinking "who in the hell is gonna come to the convention just by reading this stupid invitation".

some days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).
Are the JW still carrying NO BLOOD CARD...........have not been to a meeting in seven years.
the paedophile/rape case in wales has attracted the interest of the the charity police.
it seems the clouds are gathering and the charitable status of the wt in the uk is in question.

the first issue of the watchtower was july 1879, about 135 years ago.
it is interesting to skim the first issue, as well as the letter that russell sent out to the readers of the previous magazine he was involved with, the herald of the morning.. as to the split between russell and barbour, while the issue over the ransom seems a contributing factor, the first concern in russells letter is a monetary dispute.. the early issues of the watchtower were open to many viewpoints.
It seems it's always about money.

you don't say why you are inactive.. if you can control your tongue and not blurt out anything you have learned about ttatt, then perhaps no harm in agreeing to a visit if you feel the need to be polite and cooperative.

If you meet with them, you might slip and say something negative about the watchtower and it's doctrines and you're going to screw yourself.
These men are experienced in recognizing someone that might be an "apostate" and things will not go well with you..
Just fade and don't give them a reason to DF you.
Keep in mind you also have a wife and she will listen to these men more than she listens to you, the less you say the better.
