a different way to look at the organization.. suppose that the organization was a country of 8 million or so.
given that jw's believe that god will one day slaughter everyone else and leave them to inherit the globe, this is a fair matter to think about.. would "watchtowerland" be a theocracy..... like iran?.
would it be ruled by a group of old men........like the former soviet union?.
I think it's good that emeth puts on his rebellion hat and talks on this website. It allows some of the undercover/fading ones on here to actually have a discussion about something with a jw without being labelled as scriptually weak by some wanna-be therapist. It's also funny to see just how long it takes for an active jw to realise that they're losing an argument and that not even the silver sword can save them

If the org was a country then there'd be no need for universities or an education system of any kind i guess. Just generation after generation of home-schooled people home-schooling other people until in a few hundred/thousand years when they can't remember how to read anything except the publications

i am sure there has been a post about this subject, however being a recent addition to the network i don't know how to do a search.
and i'm sure new folks have joined since then.
i am really curious of how others came to know ttatt.. for me is was a real bad experience with one elder after another.
was doubting for a while because a lot of the things i was taught didnt make sense to me and one day when i was about to click onto jw.org i went onto jwfacts instead.

AnnoMaly's picture really sums it. All "apostates" ,i.e, anyone who says stuff withput the gb seal of approval, are obssesed with spreading their poisonous teachings.
If you really want to remain steadfast in the truth you need to follow the example of the brother in the beige suit and completely ignore anything anyone says that you don't want to hear about your religion. And don't forget to do as the older brother does in the picture and stop any young, still learning, jws even think about hearing both sides of the argument. If you do this Jehovah's heart will be glad and he might not kill you at Armageddon (which is coming soon btw, probably next week but we aren't promising anything).
I'm glad im not going to be at the meeting when they study this because i know we'll spend a good 10 minutes listening to the dumbest comments about the obviously staged photograph like it's from a newspaper.
when saying the words "happy birthday" or "good luck" to someone feels weird

"the u.s. supreme court turned away an appeal from a new mexico wedding photographer found to have violated a state anti-discrimination law when she refused to take pictures of a commitment ceremony for a same-sex couple.. the photographer, elaine huguenin, argued unsuccessfully that she was being unconstitutionally forced to convey a message conflicting with her religious beliefs.
wearewatching i feel like that's unfair to make that comparison between the two scenarioes (scenarios?).
If someone who was poor but had enough money to pay for something was refused service anyway just for being poor then yeah that's discrimination.
