Yes. Anyone giving a bible study to a child, going out on the work with a child......anything involving a child and an adult (sometimes this includes a parent or grand parent too) Will have to have this card. If not...........trouble. Lawsuits for none compliance etc. I guess many will not be taking their kids out on the work as much as before....Actually, there have been less sightings of children in the West of Australia.

Will Jehovah`s Witnesses join with other religions in Compensation Payouts ?
by smiddy injustice mcclellen asked g.jackson about compensation for victims of child abuse , and mcclellan suggested it be by a consortium of groups , presumably religious and secular in nature as a pool to dispense approppiate compensation to all of the victims involved .. g.jackson hesitated and said they would have to look at the details of that proposal , before committing to it.. jehovah`s witnesses consider themselves as the only true religion and ,all others as false religion .. they take pains to separate themselves from from any association with other religions , not even being included in newspaper notices about church services.they want to keep themselves separate and distinct from false religion as they see them.. so how do you think they will handle this suggestion / requirement ?
will they join in aligning themselves with "babylon the great" in compensation .?.
didn`t they align themselves with another religion in the u.s.a. some years ago , that had to do with the w.t.

And if they refuse to align themselves collectively with other organizations in a pooled funding. Won't that draw a very negative reaction from the public, the RC and the government..?........It may cause the tax exempt status to be looked at re the WTBTS.
It will be very interesting to see what happens on this point. It has been established that they have never had a form of insurance re the various claims that could arise.....Child Abuse being one of them....When asked about that, (and I can't recall who answered it now) The answer was........" ...because we have never had a claim over this issue..."
Stupid answer really, since it had been established that they had never reported any...ever.

Shocking development from Australian Royal Commission
by Esse quam videri init is reported that elder kevin bowditch was so upset at the grilling he received at the arc that he has traveled to austin, texas to prepare for any future encounters with angus stewart.. we see from various stages of the interrogation his increasing anguish.
he is reported as saying in private, '.. that's never going to happen again.
i think i was hung up and left out to dry by the governing body.

Any proof that Bowditch is really doing this, or is it wishful thinking? It would be very interesting to find out more. He was not a good witness and looked spaced out at times, so way out of his depth....I didn't feel sorry for him though, I just can't feel that way for people who should have a normal conscience... -

I wish Geoffrey Jackson wasn't being questioned at all vs a video link...
by thedepressedsoul ini'd rather them not even question him at this point.
by allowing a video link, they put the ball 100% in his court.
i don't get what they expect to accomplish by having a video link only.. 2. he won't feel any pressure.

Also, I loved and hated his thoughts about how a mother could plant ideas in a child's mind about sexual abuse...Hence the need for elders to be extra cautious.....
The man couldn't have said a worse thing in public...It was so revealing in many ways of how " Out of the mouths of babes" was nothing to him, to them......
Do you think that was missed?. It wasn't, it was a classic slip up showing the inner workings of his mind.....That statement is there for all time.......

Will The Royal Commission Have A Major Part In Busting Up The Watchtower Corporation's Tribunal Committee Function?
by Brokeback Watchtower inmr stewart has uncovered enough evidence of the horrors of this process set in motion by a bunch of lunatics suffering from a messiah complex and so the findings of this inquiry will will mark a beginning in the infrastructure of this institution being limited severely by laws of the land.
i'm sure new legislation that will be forth coming will be tackling this major problem head long.

There was a scramble to hide the financials of WTBTS Australia. This was noted, it will be investigated due to it's tax exempt status.
There are some hard rules about charity that have slipped by the attention of secular authorities. That will change, be sure of it. The tax department don't mind nicking the money back if they think they were in any way deceived. Also Justice asked outright if the WT would consider a collective effort at redress. Not a light little question, but a very leading one.

Using Governing Body Member Jackson Testimony To The Royal Commission, For A Defense Before A Judicial Committee Meeting
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think that a person that is called before a judicial committee can use a recording of the trial and force the elder to view it because of jackson's statement to the commission and get off.
i think mr jackson has said enough about people who wish to leave the witnesses as not being harassed, hunted down, or spied upon and such to get the elder off your back and give them a "good witness".. also to be highlighted is the fact that jackson has stated under oath that the governing body is willing to reexamine doctrine and policy in order to conform to the law,.
i think many statements by gb jackson to the commission can be used by some one clever and thus escape the label of apostate and be unhindered to a large extent of speaking to others.. .

That was a good one too. How easy it will be for anyone to mouth those exact words as uttered by the GB Jackson.

But, won't they fall back on the "it's not a legal system in a secular sense...." Sort of way.?
I thought that Jackson was trying very hard to establish that this judiciary was more of a spiritual one, not a legal one. I was tricky of him and I don't know what secular authorities will do with it.....

best ex JW sites
by cobweb ini used to visit this site about ten years ago.
i haven't come her in a long time.
i have just recently started talking to a family member who is leaving the jws and i wanted to know what are the best sites available these days for finding out all the topics of information - failed prophecy, 1975, rutherford's drinking, russells tombstone - you know all of that kind of stuff.. back in the day there used to be a site run by a norwegian i think called kent.

Depending on how fragile this person may feel and supposing there is still some loyalty to the society, it might be best to go to Berean Pickets. The harder sites may make this person feel very uncomfortable and therefore they may need some doctrines proven right or researched well as to why they are wrong.
I know I spent ages, years on BP as I was often afraid of the sites where anything could crop up and scare me.............for some obscure reason I often felt I was in the wrong.....

Misleading The Australian Royal Commission
by mtwtf inhas the australian rc been given misleading assurances that jws will fully comply with laws demanding that child sex offenses be reported to the police?
it appears that way when we look at the background to these assurances.
several jws testified to the rc, that they would have reported all child molestation cases to the police had they had been required to do so by law.

The command centre want's the elders to phone them so they can do a quick check on the legal statutes in that area, or country......or whatever.

Oubliette is quite right. If there is a known crime committed and a person or persons fail to report they are culpable to a degree for not informing the police. Now I am sure there are many crimes that go unreported, but this particular one of child abuse, can land some people in very hot water.
I know this due to my own "reporting" of this crime against my children. She, the detective sat there listening, pen in hand, document infront of her........" So, are you willing to make a police report, an official report about this?"
"Yes, why do you think I'm here, just to have a chat?"
"No, I don't think that at all. It's just that we have so many come in and not make it official. When that happens we like to take actions that are in our powers to take".
That was in the early 80s. I had no qualms about what I was about to do. Not one, I wanted action for the future of the children. I wanted them to know they had been defended and I was very sorry not to have seen this side of that man. The point is, that even back then, the police did have a great capacity to involve others if not supplied with the legal go ahead of the parent, guardian or complainant. I know that not much has been done in those years. The things is, they were trying to work at it even then. I'm very aware of how they must have felt frustrated.
So there was always an obligation to report, it rarely happened though.
