so i was talking to my mother the other day, and she was distressed because she was saying that if my little sister isn't baptized or working toward it by the time she's 18 (which is coming up soon) she may have to move out (more then likely she'll move in with me and my girlfriend, or my older sister if that happens).
my little sister is a great kid (high honor roll, no trouble, hard worker, etc), that many parents would be grateful to have.
i asked my mom, why would they take parenting advice from a guy who doesn't (and hasn't) ever had kids?
Any organization, any PERSON who advocates, under threat of SHUNNING, that a family kick their own kids out of the house if they dont join this cult, is NOT OF GOD. Period.
Anyone who follows that directive and treats their own family like they were satans minions living under their roof and not their own blood deserves to be ...I dont know...SHOT? STONED? LOCKED UP? ARRESTED?
It pisses me off no end how this cult destroys families, lives, souls.

The Society has been playing WACK A MOLE with the internet trying to get rid of their adversaries for the last 13 or more YEARS. I think they realize its a run away train. They cant say to NOT go on the internet because they have SITES on the internet and they cant just threaten away all anti JW rhetoric on here. It cant be done. And saying that stuff "misrepresents" what they believe isnt the same as saying that it was NOT what they believe only that the slant was a bit off. They cant defend what they believe so instead they KILL THE MESSENGER.
Let them come and monitor this site and others. I say let all the Bethelites have a PC and assign each of them a day that they HAVE to read the posts here on JWN :) Bethel will be empty by the end of the month.

about 15 people meet for a bible study in the home of the pastor.
the county has informed him that he cannot have a religious assembly in his home without first applying for a very expernsive permit.. hmmm.
maybe the society took home book studies away for legal reasons.. personally, i think the government has no right to tell people they can't meet up for bible study..
I tell you what...I lived in a suburban neighborhood outside Chicago and had the bookstudy at my house. 20 people came in about 15 cars every single week and thats a lot of frickin vehicles. During the winter if there was 1 inch or more of snow or snow was expected, NOBODY could park on the streets! I had to personally make sure that they had somewhere to park when they came and that meant shoveling my own drive, my terrace, and begging some of the neighbors to let me borrow their drives and in turn agreeing to shovel THEIR driveways to accommodate all of them every week. My husband would of course, not even be home for all this. Hed mozy on in at about 7:25 and throw his monkey suit on and sit down like he had done ANYTHING.
I personally would be upset if someone was basically running a CHURCH from their home and imposing on MY space and street with their parishioners every week. They SHOULD have something to say about it. I dont care if its a Bible study group, AVON parties or ORGIES...you cant be allowed to impose on the people around you.

some may remember, i wrote on an other thread that elders forbade me to give comments at the wt meeting, as i weaken the brothers' faith.
i wasn't satisfied with this outcome and, 10 days ago i sat with my wife on the front part of the kh (like in many khs, attendants pack on the back seats), in the middle of the row, right in front of the wt elder, and raised my hand insistently.
i was of course openly ignored but i didn't care, all that i wanted was verybody to see how they deal with independent members.

In the early 90s I believe it was...I was living in the Schaumburg Illinois area and going to a newly formed congregation but it met in the Elgin Hall. And we were getting many people to the meetings from the Streamwood congregation all of a sudden...like ALL of them. And I was told it was because the entire BOE was either fired or quit. It was never made clear to me. But it wasnt the first time I had heard of that kind of wide spread dissent in the ranks.
