well dylan of course. although he wasn't my favorite until after the 60's were over.

peter, paul and mary. great. still listen to them and have to catch them on pbs every time there is a show. actually met mary at a trade show i was doing a couple of years ago. she wandered into my booth with a man (i guess her husband). i was too shy and said to him to tell mary i love her. he said tell her yourself and i did. she was gracious and moved on.

love judy collins and saw her in concert probably 3-4 times.

also love joan baez, but had her music playing in my car for a while and found that i was getting depressed. finally pinpointed the cause as her music. so depressing. barbary allen - omg, knife thru my heart. we shall overcome. so sad. saw her in concert twice, the first time in new haven, ct. great, the second time a couple of years ago in purchase, ny, suny, and she was terrible -- disorganized --, fragmented. oh well. she is a beautiful woman though; she has aged so well and looks almost better now.

the funniest is still stevie wonder on the taping of "we are the world" teaching bob dylan to do himself. dylan was just out of it and wonder was doing his best dylan imitation for dylan to show him how he should be singing during his solo part.

Robert, you just had a birthday! Happy birthday a day or two late. Too bad we can't all go to the Sugar Shack.

There’s a crazy little shack beyond the tracks
And ev’rybody calls it the sugar shack
Well, it’s just a coffeehouse and it’s made out of wood
    Expresso coffee tastes mighty good
That’s not the reason why I’ve got to get back
To that sugar shack, whoa baby
    To that sugar shack.

There’s this cute little girlie, she’s a’workin’ there
A black leotard and her feet are bare
I’m gonna drink a lotta coffee, spend a little cash
Make that girl love me when I put on some trash
You can understand why I’ve got to get back
To that sugar shack, whoa baby
To that sugar shack, yeah honey
To that sugar shack, whoa yes
    To that sugar shack.

Now that sugar shack queen is a’married to me, yeah yeah
We just sit around and dream of those old memories
Ah, but one of these days I’m gonna lay down tracks
In the direction of that sugar shack
Just me and her yes we’re gonna go back
    To that sugar shack,
    Whoa uh ohT
o that sugar shack, yeah honey
    To our sugar shack
