Children are being conditioned that they can look for power within themselves and start bringing some control into the things round about them by tapping into their own powers just like Harry does.

Let's put the magic in the Harry Potter books aside for a minute.

Why can't children learn that they do have inner power? Why can't they bring some type of control to their environment? Is this not the essence of growing up and taking our place in the world? If I had been aware of my inner power and the concept that I had some control over my life as a child then I would have been more protected growing up.

Children know the difference between fantasy and reality, the magic and violence in these stories is mild compared to the bible.

    Masturbation is "self-abuse"

Masturbation will not truly relieve the sexual pressure that one may feel.

Men may be more easily visually stimulated than women, but women can be just as vulnerable to sexual fantasy in the emotional realm.

Of course, sexual urges in and of themselves are not wicked. They are natural. God created us that way. He desires that we get optimum pleasure out of them by using them the way they were created to be used.

However, many desires for physical gratification (whether it be food, sex, etc.) stem from a deeper need that is unfilled deep inside us. Gorging our flesh can never fill a hunger that grows out of our spirit. Only intimacy with God can fill the deepest needs inside of us. No other created thing has that power.

NO-ONE is PERFECT! Did I answer your question?

Everyone's body is not made up the same, yet it is. Humans feel urges even I. But it's up to us to control it.

Hisbis - if this is your experience you are not doing it properly. For me it relieves sexual frustration completely and utterly.

I don't really understand why the word vulnerable is used here - it doesn't make sense. It makes it sound as if a fantasy, that will frequently increase your pleasure and that of your partner, is a bad thing?

It may for a short moment, but in the long run it only creates a deeper desire and capacity for sex, which will lead to more masturbation.

If you let yourself become enslaved to a sexual high, you will find that you need to go to increasingly extreme acts to maintain the same degree of excitement.

There are even ungodly sex therapists who recommend masturbation as a way of increasing sexual desire, not lessening it. This creates a vicious circle, like the junkie who craves a "fix," but is only temporarily satisfied. The more he indulges in his dependency, the more ensnared by addiction he becomes.

This is the nature of all sin. That is why Jesus declared that all who sin become a slave to sin. (John 8:34).

Crumpet: I don't really understand the begative aspect of children wanting to go to wizard school - I mean, don't you want to go? Ofcourse I admit it's all facinating! But make beleive and reality are two separate things. Simple magician do tricks as illusions, however there are those who use demonic spirits to aid them in their acts. Likewise, witches and witchcraft have become very popular. Can you dispute that? Hib
