Was the USA right to drop the Bomb on Japan to end WW2?

    The unspoken, little known fact of history is that whatever Truman's reason(s) for dropping the bomb(s), it was not simply to "end WW2". The Japanese were defeated, knew it, and had already made clear moves towards surrender. And it is all documented, and declasified.

    It's kind of weird that the Japanese Ambassadors were at the United Nations building signing some sort of peace treaty while they knew that they had been preparing to knock our lights out, that the ships and planes were sneaking up on us.

    My uncle who was a youngster at the time fought in the war. He came back with hair as white as Mose's (after he came off the mountain) and he had shell shock. He wouldn't talk anymore.
