It must be about 13 years since I went out in service. About 15 years since I went out a couple times a month, and about 18 years since I went at least once a week.

I just can't imagine going from door to door anymore. But to think that we all did it for quite awhile.

How long has it been for you? Days, weeks months, years?

    About four years now.

Not so long ago to not still be a bad memory.

It's only been two years. But it feels like an eternity. After I quit, I became such a different person. I honestly can't believe I did that all those years. It digusts me, all the time I spent doing something meaningless.

I stopped going in service around four years ago.

I stopped reporting time just over two years ago.

About five years...I became inactive in service before I really started searching for real answers. Knocking on doors forcing religion on people really goes against my nature. I felt guilty about not doing it, but now, no way I'd ever go back to field service.

I recently helped hand out flyers for a neighborhood block party in my neighborhood. As I walked up to the first door, I had what I could only describe as a mild panic attack. All those years of field service came flooding back into my memory as I tried to knock on the door. I had to take a couple of minutes to compose myself and convince myself that I was doing something good and nice this time.

25 years of Saturdays all to myself and my family. I never loved service as the sisters in my congregation professed.
