You can't look for ONE flaw in a religion and label it FALSE.

I think you can, if that religion claims to be "The Truth". By that definition, it should all be true, or at least as true as they can understand it to be at the time.

My two favorite truth-claim-killers are the blood issue, and their frequent misquoting of outside sources to make their point.

AlmostAtheist - I can't read your posts without hearing them in Fry's voice, do you have any idea how irritating that is!

Of course the onus is on them to prove that they do have the truth. The trouble is that if they knew you as a witness then they assume that of course "We know we have the truth"..

Reasons why not 1] logic - if "God is love" and loves mankind, how on earth could he destroy slaughter the vast majority of mankind , simply because they are not convinced by the WTS? not a credible belief 2] If the WTS were really the" faithful & discreet slave" they would not have been spectacularly wrong in 1914, and 1925 and 1975 and they would not have got into bed with the UN, and a whole list of other shortcomings 3] one can shoot down the chronology to 1914 ..4] simple estimates of the numbers of early christians and the numbers of modern remnant exceed 144000....5] if God were blessing them, why are they stuggling for money and numbers?

The only reason for keeping going is simple inertia , a real fresh look at it with the benefit of the information now available on the net and elsewhere would not convince a reasoning person

truth-a fact that has been verified.

    faith-believing in something not verified.

Jehovah's witnesses have faith that thier beliefs are the truth.

Jehovah's witnesses still have faith that their beliefs are the truth even when these "truths" are changed or proven untrue.

Once a "truth" is verified as truth, can it become an "untruth" later?

    Here are some examples:

    Changed "Truths"

vaccinations are a violation of god's covenant with noah

    organ transplants are cannibalistic

"criteria for association" with the UN

treatment of its members who permit or accept a blood transfusion

    the "generation" of 1914

    'higher powers' or 'superior authorities'

the men from Sodom and their Resurrection

    Black people

date of the "return" of Jesus

    Michael the Archangel

    The second coming

    The end of the world

    oral sex is bad

    parable of the mustard seed

identification of the "Alpha and Omega"

    ultra-violet rays are healing

human blood contains the personality of the person himself

the human heart contains the personality of the person himself

    Hemophiliacs can eat blood

Jehovah lives in Pleiades star cluster galaxy

So JH, maybe the Witnesses do have the truth?

If they do, they messed up at many places.

Pilate asked the right question: "What is truth?"

If you can get a JW to acknowledge the dictionary meaning of truth, you win the case.

JW's definition of "truth" is as flawed as the rest of their doctrine.

Here's a better question: Prove that Jehovah's Witnesses DO have the Truth.

the witnesses don't have the truth because it keeps changing all the time. like any lie.

Truth is an absolute scientific fact. Truth does not change given new evidence.

JW's change their religious 'truths' as often as most people change their underware. They do not have the truth, they have an isolationist interpretation of facts that are only true given how they want to spin it in any particular time and place.

    4. The true religion remains untainted by worldly politics and conflicts. It is neutral in time of war.?John 18:36; James 1:27.

    6. The true religion does not condone war or personal violence.?Micah 4:2-4; Romans 12:17-21; Colossians 3:12-14.

Those two points seem to contradict themselves (like so many of the JW's teachings). IMO, not speaking out against war is condoning it. My sister, who was recently baptized told me that a recent public talk was about how Christendom isn't doing anything to stop the war in Iraq. I could only laugh because of course the dubs aren't doing anything to stop it either.
