but i think for the most part many who leave the jws dont end up like we were taught in the bOrg, at least not me or my siblings.

I do think that is true for most who leave the WTS.

It's funny, when I told my family that Mrs. Kwin and I were leaving, they implied that basically, we were going to start all these immoral practices, just because we are no longer JW's. That's a BS control tactic. Common belief. The WTS says something, therefore it must be true, because they say they don't lie.

Well, I smoke, and sometimes, at McDonalds, I stick my hand inside the straw dispenser.

i jus reread baby's post and i wanted to add that becoming a jw doesnt make one a good person. and leaving doesnt make anyone revert back to old bad habits. people are who they are regardless of who or what they worship.

her comments just feels like anyone who leaves the jws are just itching to get back to the "bad stuff", frankly i have met more honest loving God-fearing and non God-fearing good people on the outside than in. on the outside i dont have to worry about who may see me doing what and who's going to report me to the elders.

i can drink, smoke, have sex in any position, celebrate what holidays i want, associate with whom i please, have the career and education i want, wear the kind of clothes i want, cuss, have smurfs in the house (even though i think they are incrediblly stupid), watch r rated movies and a few pornos every once in a while, wear my hair the way i want, dance and shake my butt, give money and other items to charities, go garage sale shopping, second hand store shopping, eat what i what (well not too much dont want to gain weight lol).

i could go on....but life must be pretty boring for you if you think only about all the bad stuff you could be doing outside of the society instead of all the good there is out there to do.

I may be worldly but I'm not naive...

Pre-Marital sex was my biggest sin, although after I married a man I wondered how far i could actually go...and I didn't care much about the sin of fornicatin' cause the more I did it the more apprehensive I felt about the WT's view of it as walking the cliff of death.

And it felt good, so feh...

    I wish more would!

Sex: I've been with two women in the biblical sense since leaving, but I regret both...They didn't really care about me, and that makes me feel like crap...

Gambling: I went to Vegas and lost $10 in Texas Hold 'Em, Blackjack, Craps and slots.

Profanities: Only when I really mean it...and trust me, I have a lot of meaning to these days.

Patriotism: I voted and say the pledge. I'm an American!

"Spiritism": I watched "The Ring" and also play D&D

Only think I've actually gotten stricter on: Booze. I was a rare drinker, but now I'm a tee-totaler.

hm i'll try to remember this is not a one up contest but i have family also who are jws.

my parents, my grandparents (now dead), 2 uncles who are elders on my dad's side, one 2nd cousin by marriage on my mother's side who is an elder, numerous cousins on both sides who are jws....so i know of what you speak, oh and did i say i was born into the madness but chose not to get baptised which saves me from the mess of those of my liberal jw family being ok with speaking to me?

so i know where you are coming from and have you ever heard of being discreet?

Mrs Jones - who's title as dogooder is a given

P.S. thanks loads for the backhanded slam - i caught and and really appreciate it

and actually all the stuff i said i COULD do were examples of what i can do NOW (I dont smoke). Sorry if that went over your head Babygirl.

Badge, awwwww. This happens to women all the time. I have always had a hunch that men don't like being used that way either.

I stick my hand inside the straw dispenser.

I shall never view straw dispensers as sacrosanct again.

    Cussing

Not limiting my tv/movie viewing to G-rated programs

Spending time w/those "worldly" friends who I had avoided due to a forced guilty conscience

Celebrating holidays starting next week w/Thanksgiving

I enjoyed the birthday party they gave me at work

If I wasn't married, I'd still be getting it on anyway.
