    GDT,

GDT: One can only say that with all the cynicism, and condemnation, is it not time that you accept that the organization is saying to this question' NO, It is not up to us to judge'. If it is a 'correction' from previous;y stronger expressions, why not say 'fair enough' or is that too much to ask? gdt

Most of us here know full well the official position on Salvation. Only those affiliated with the Watchtower Society have a hope of Salvation during Armageddon. AFTER Armageddon the belief is that the "ressurection of the righteous and unrighteous" will include those who have died before Armageddon regardless of their righteousness. So the Society's answer is shifty and misleading. Most people ask this question with Armageddon in mind. In other words people wonder if JW's teach that they ALONE are considered righteous and worthy of salvation at Armageddon in God's eyes. When the WTS answers "NO" instead of "YES", they can only do so by shifting the focus to the resurrection. The question "Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe they are the only one's who will be saved at Armageddon " is one the Society (and many JW's) will likely avoid answering directly. The reason is their literature and teaching clearly indicates that they beleive they are the only people worthy of salvation at Armageddon. Yet, publically they are reluctant to admit it. Examples:

The Watchtower, September 1, 1989, p. 19: "Remaining Organized for Survival Into the Millennium": Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil. From The Watchtower, August 15, 1953, pp. 500-1: "For anyone to forsake the organized congregation of those who are destined to survive Armageddon means for that one never to get past Armageddon into the New World and its theocratic system. Like Noah's family, we must now get into the ark all together!" The Watchtower, April 1, 1982, pp. 30-1 "The only ones to whom the Bible extends hope of surviving the "great tribulation" are Christ's "brothers," or "chosen ones," and the "great crowd" of "sheep".

It's not a matter of softening. You will find no recent articles retracting a former stance. The issue GDT, is the fact that the WTS teaches that, of all humanity alive on Earth today, ONLY those of the JW religion are worthy of salvation at Armageddon. Realizing how bold this claim may appear to the 6 BILLION outsiders, they water it down and shift the focus to the much more appealing resurrection scenario. It's not a matter of "taking the Society's word on it" their 'word' is disengenious and misleading. We are simply pointing out the inconsistancy. Are you suggesting that the WTS teaches that it MAY NOT BE NECESSARY to be affiliated with the JW religion to survive Armageddon? Does the WTS teach Muslims may have an opportunity for salvation at Armageddon? Catholics? Protestants? Hindu? Buddists? Agnostics? Atheists? From my conversations with JW's most are not comfortable with the official teaching. Many leave room for additional survivors at Armageddon, since many have friends and family that would otherwise be slaughtered. When the research the Society's position though, they find no such comfort.

Do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?

No. Many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah's Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God's time of judgment, and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. God has committed judgment into Jesus' hands, not ours.?Matthew 7:1-5; John 5:22, 27

If you read it you will see first speak about those who will be resurrected. Which has always been the view that those that die before Armageddon will be resurrected and get a chance in the "new earth".

Then they say "Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God's time of judgment, and they will gain salvation." This mean is you become a JW you will get salvation.

When they speak about Jesus judging what they mean he will look at the people and say "You didn't become a JW and follow the WT organisation. So I'm going to destroyed you."

ah you exes have little idea of the watchtowers fantasy end game scanario. THERE WILL BE NOBODY LEFT BUT JWS. It is not that God is killing non JWs it is the fact that all other religious people will be dead. Now imagine this break down

    Christians 32.79% (of which Roman Catholics 17.33%, Protestants 5.62%, Orthodox 3.51%, Anglicans 1.31%), Muslims 19.6%, Hindus 13.31%, Buddhists 5.88%, Sikhs 0.38%, Jews 0.24%, other religions 12.83%, non-religious 12.53%, atheists 2.44% (2001 est.)

That means 15% of the world if the GT happend today would kill or convert 84% of the world leaving 1% JW.

Tell me where is the watchtower lying? There are no other religions left to enter armageddon only some JWs maybe a few assorted disorganized holy warrior hold outs. So the jws don't believe God is going to kill 6 billion people because they are not JW. People are going to try to kill 6 billion people. And since jws are "NO PART OF THE WORLD" they plan on not fighting so they will be saved. Gog of Magog will see they are not fighting and hunt them down.

Yes I know this childish fantasy but that is what the watchtower believes. It really believes "the nations" and "worldly people" are so blood thirsty they could be worked into a frenzy enought to kill the entire human population. It goes back to the "days of Noah" where man was so violent God destroyed the earth.

    In this thread - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/75556/1.ashx

Blondie mamkes a great point -

I was going over the WT for this Sunday and found this statement in a side article about the Gilead graduation.

"For people to be physically saved when the present system of things is destroyed, they must take in accurate knowledge from God's Word, make publication declaration of their faith and get baptized."

GB member Gerrit Losch was saying that people had to listen to the Gilead graduates who were the real publishers of salvation.Blondie

That says it pretty plainly - the WT believes that the only people who will live through Armageddon when it comes* will be Dubs.

    *(HA! HA HA!)

You are missing the point. Can you name the parties beside the DUBs that still exist when armagegdon starts in the watchtower's scenario?

If you can name one religion beside the jehovah's witnesses (or "supporters") that survives the beast war name them and atheist dont count.

XQTP, you could help me "get the point" by offerring some quotes from WTS literature that support your claim in its particulars. I think you are resorting to what amounts to "word play" to imdemnify Jehovah and give the WTS a free pass.

I was at a funeral for a non-JW husband. The sister next to me said, "Isn't it good that he died before Armageddon so he will be resurrected."

Blondie said, "Oh, then maybe we should be going from door to door killing people if we have that philosophy. I hope you haven't shared that with anyone else here."
