The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day the kids came back and one by one began to tell their stories.
Ashley said, "My father's a farmer and we have a lot of egg laying hens. One time we were taking our eggs to market in a basket on the front seat of the car when we hit a big bump in the road and all the eggs went flying and broke and made a mess."
"What's the moral of the story?" asked the teacher.
'Don't put all your eggs in one basket!"
"Very good," said the teacher.
Next little Sarah raised her hand and said, "Our family are farmers too, but we raise chickens for the meat market. We had a dozen eggs one time,but when they hatched we only got ten live chicks, and the moral to this story is, "don't count your chickens before they're hatched."
"That was a fine story Sarah."
"Michael, do you have a story to share?"
"Yes, my daddy told me this story about my Aunt Carol. Aunt Carol was a flight engineer in the Gulf War and her plane got hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a
bottle of whiskey, a machine gun and a machete. She drank the whiskey on the way down so it wouldn't break and then she landed right in the middle of 100 enemy troops. She killed seventy of
them with the machine gun until she ran out of bullets. Then she killed twenty more with the machete until the blade broke and then she killed the last ten with her bare hands!"
"Good heavens," said the horrified teacher, "what kind of moral did your daddy tell you from that horrible story?"
"Stay the heck away from Aunt Carol when she's been drinking." -

You mean its your toes she likes?
And has anyone got any ideas for what to do about the Sunday? Is there anything else anyone fancys doing, or shall we just phone and book a table for a meal somewhere instead of just turning up? If we do that we should still be able to be slightly flexible with the numbers if more people want to come or some can't make it.

Sunday lunch MIGHT be a possibility for us. At the moment Dominic has chicken pox. It depends on where the lunch venue is going to be. As Ang mentioned, Mothering Sunday is potentially a very busy time - and I'm starting to itch like blazes!!!

It would be good to get to meet you Ian. So, anyone got any ideas for the Sunday? I think I'm going to be having a day at Chatsworth House on the Saturday.

We could always go for a chinese or indian at the Trafford Centre ... I would expect these are likely to be less busy than the "sunday lunch get 'em in, feed-em-quick, move 'em out and charge 'em plenty" pubs will be.
The Chinese (Cathay Dim Sum from Manchester's china town) and the Indian (Shere Khan from Rusholm) are both top notch but there are also plenty of other places to nosh as well (spanish, italian, mexican etc ...). We're open to suggestions though if people fancy something else.
Not sure how we're getting to Oldham yet ... I was thinking of getting a Taxi so Mrs Me can drink but if one of us drives, I guess it's my turn

If its your turn to drive then I take it you'll be getting a taxi!!!!!!!!! And if you are getting a taxi give me a call I might be able to make it so you only have to get one one way.......
