I can't make the beerfest because I'm going to Spring Equinox that night. I could make a sunday pub lunch type bash though...

That sounds like a deal. No backing out of it, now

Yes, if he isn't working. He works funny shifts so no week is the same. I've already checked if he is working the weekend of Emans BBQ and he says he isn't! It looks like we will be able to drive down.

Urm I just noticed that Sunday the 21st is Mother's day, which means the pubs are going to be absolutely packed at lunch time and may be very difficult to get in with a big group. And we will likely pay over the odds for crappy food and will be rushed out so they can get the next group in.

Maybe we could think of something else family friendly to do on the Sunday?

Just a suggestion, what does everyone think?

    Sounds like a good idea.
Unfortunately there's no beach near Manchester (I really am spoilt here, huh?) but I'm open to suggestions.
I hope to be around until about 3pm, and will happily "go with the flow"

Ten reasons to try a glass of real cask ale

    1. There are literally thousands of different flavours

    2. It is made from fresh, natural ingredients

    3. You can be sure of buying British

    4. It's refreshing and cool (not warm!) on a hot summer's day

    5. It goes well with food - try real cask ale instead of wine for a change

    6. It's excellent value for money because unlike other drinks you're not having to pay for the brands' huge advertising costs

    7. It is a rich source of vitamins and has genuine health benefits when drunk in moderation

    8. Despite what you might hear, beer is not fattening when drunk in moderation; in fact, real cask ale contains no fat at all!

    9. By buying locally brewed beer, you are supporting local jobs and the local economy

    And most importantly...

    10. It tastes great!
