To those of you who say that 1914 came from Russell or Barbour or William Miller. No, it was back in 1823 from Even-Tide by John Aquilla Brown. He used 604 - 1917, 3 years later but it is the same concept.

Current and past scholarship has validated 1914 CE as the end of the foretold Gentile Times or 'times of the Gentiles' and the date 607 BCE for the Fall of Jerusalem during the reigns of the Zedekiah, King of Judah and Nebuchadnezzer, King of Babylon. Former JW's such as Carl Olaf Jonsson had attempted to disprove these two most significant dates in Bible history and prophecy by means of so-called 'seventeen lines of evidence' presented in his published editions of Gentile Times Reconsidered which was a dismal fail as his research - a rehash of SDA scholars from the fifties in Australia misinterpreted the biblical '70 years' of the prophet Jeremiah who prophesied and lived through that momentous period of Exile ending in 537 BCE being of 70 years thus ending in 607 BCE.
