That’s a odd reading, because the whole point of Revelation 7 seems to be that the great crowd are those who survive through the great tribulation. But it does fit with a pattern of Watchtower interpretations along the lines of “the text says x, but how do we know the text doesn’t really mean x”.

Survival of Armageddon was not the identifying factor of the great crowd in the 60's, but it definitely was in 1995
