Because he voiced his opinion on Roger Stone’s recommended sentencing as being grossly unfair, the Democrats are talking about impeachment.

Do they really think that impeaching him will mean that a Democrat will get into the White House??

    It is CRAZY!!!

The voters will decide in November.

They have guaranteed that they, the Democrats, won't be in the White House come after the election. Especially with that stunt that Nancy Pelosi pulled at the State of the Union Address. They managed to turn many long time Democrat voters against them, and they will be showing this come November.

If you are going to impeach any President, it should be because of something that was done that was horrible. Just Because a President isn’t liked by the other side, they shouldn’t always be threatened with impeachment.

We have this thing in the US called the Electoral College. It dates back to the time when only land-owners could vote and giving sparsely populated States more rights.

Having land (flyover States) counts more than what the overall population votes for is just a throwback to a different time.

One's house with 50 acres in a rural State and two people count more than a city block with 250 people in a populated State when it comes to the Presidential election.

It's just the way it works.

You may enjoy reading exactly why we have the electoral college (actually brilliant) in the book Summer of 1787

    HERE

Folks who rail against the electoral college often don't seem to understand it much deeper than a bumper sticker or sound bite they heard on MSNBC.

It is the height of simplistic thinking to think a straight "one person, one vote" approach is good at the national level. It was employed to address the same (but not identical) issues, then and now.

Besides, if the popular vote was all that was necessary we'd have Hillary Clinton in the White House. Certainly you wouldn't want that.....no matter how much you hate The Orange One.

In the last civil war the Democrats lost all their slaves. Who knows what they might lose this time if they actually manage to remove Trump for stupidity like this. They have already lost their minds.

The power disparity between the sovereign States was such that the Electoral College was a necessary compromise to get the small/weaker states to sign the Constitution.

Then, as now, folks were worried about 2 or 3 States basically deciding and carrying the entire election. The whole point was to mitigate that power gap between large and small.

Removal of the Electoral College would basically renege on the terms in which the Constitution was signed. I wouldn't blame smaller/weaker States for balking (and I live in one of the biggies!).

It's a voluntary association of sovereign States - it's not the mafia!
