Vidiot - I disagree. The Mormons and scientologists would have to lose their tax free status first before they set their eyes on WT. Wt is a small player compared to some of these other companies that use religion as a front to get out of paying tax.

Yes. They could never hit one Organization with taxes without taxing the rest. Perhaps.

$368 Million in tax exempts. I wouldn't be surprised one iota if Brooklyn is happy to see the JWs leave. What a burden that must be on a city.

To put it into perspective just how insignificant $368mill is. The lds generates $8 billion dollars a year just in tithing alone. The for profit arm of the lds church recently built a $5 billion dollar luxury shopping complex in Salt Lake City. When the profit of the lds church cut the ribbon to the complex he is quoted as saying "let's go shopping". Could you ever imagine jesus saying that in the temple or how the tax depth views it. In the greater scheme of things and for what Wt get away with is nothing compared to other none profit organization.

... the religious organization to donate $50 million to the borough as it sells off at great profit the remainder of its Brooklyn property and moves upstate.
This is the last chance to do it,

    I cannot stop laughing.

Brooklyn's population is about 2.5 million.

That means that each person footed about $150 of the lost tax revenue from the Watchtower. And that is including all those who are not working.

Same people holding their breath for WT to donate money to the Borough of Brooklyn so that the Borough can donate money to jewish causes in borough park (and other religions too) so they can buy and build buildings and religious schools and get tax exempt status on the buildings and funds for the schools and millions and millions and millions each year for schools for the religious mentally challenged and religious charities, etc. will also want bulldozers for catholic churches (that are empty anyway except for some ethnic people that still go but don't donate much if anything at all to the church) so they can build affordable housing. WT gets greenbacks from the sheep not from Caesar. And these "Brooklyn partnership guys" (NPO) want to take the sheep's hard earned money donated to WT so the borough can give it to other religions and NPOs?!!!!!! Go take a flying leap!

But when the Holy place gets taxed, all religions will also get the ax. -WT is taking the money and running for the hills. Watchtower sees what is coming.

Governments need money. That's where all the money is, it is in Religion.

You think sometimes that Corporations just using Religion as a scheme to hide under a tax-free bracket. It seems.
