This sounds like one of those rumors they start to see what reaction it causes. They probably want the flock to think the end is less than 10 years out......as usual.

Your friend or his Elder friend missed the entire point of what was said. The BIG DEAL is that the GB ONLY has a 10 year plan. They're "hinting" that The Big A will be here in less than 10 years. Joe Hoover is going to eliminate the need for more than 10 years more planning.

Bottom line is always money. If that runs out which it will with all these lawsuits,GB will come up with another plan to sell all KHalls and start meeting in peoples homes.Yes the contribution boxes will still be a major part in homes too.All proceeds going to the WBTS of course. Later after some more years gone by , present generation (xjws and otherwise) either passed away or old and tired out ,they will devise another plan to start building KH again. The cycle keeps going. Their cup will always be full and with well oiled dishes.

So when the money runs out and the property portfolio is sold-- and they have creamed off the profits into a suitably obscure bank account, then they can announce the 'wisdom' of meeting in houses again.

To the faithful this will sound like a trumpet call; the promised bunker mentality coming to life and all of a sudden the nearness to Big A will loom in their tiny minds. As the religion dies it will have suckers lapping it up as if at last they are living the reality of the JW dream-- but like everything JW, it will only lead to complete disappointment.

To misquote TS Elliot; the JW world will end not with a bang but a whimper.

There's too much power and money involved. They will not surrender it that easily.
