I heard that by the WT years ago. They admit that Jehovah might not be the correct pronunciation as this was a Latanized translation of the YHWH but that is what is acceptable now. By the way I can't stand listening to that Geoffrey Jackson voice. If I had to sit through a whole talk of his I would want to kill myself.

So he says "is this a reasonable position to take?"

    Then answers "yes"

So therefore, it must be correct!

Is the Trinity widely accepted? Yes. Does it make sense for JWs accept it? No.

Is the concept of an Immortal Soul widely accepted? Yes. Does it make sense for JWs accept it? No

Is the idea of all good people Going to Heaven widely accepted? Yes. Does it make sense for JWs accept it? No.

    - As opposed to -

Geoffrey Jackson: Why do we use the name 'Jehovah' in English? [...] It is because it is the most widely accepted. Does this make sense? Yes.

Straightening out the proper pronunciation of the Divine Name would have been a perfect opportunity for JWs to take a stand for the 'Truth,' but instead they took the route of convenience, which is to support what is 'widely accepted' by the world.

Convoluted thinking and double standards are the trade mark of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The Society, for what it's worth, simply took the reckless but easy route to separate themselves from the fall-out of the International Bible Students under that idiot Rutherderless the sitting President of the WTBT$. If they had called themselves Christian Witnesses and focused on the Son who gave his life up this would have been a more Christian religion then one dominated by the God of revenge who drowned a world and all who lived in it including babies and those unborn for want of a usable boat.........it's all tragic nonsense.

His name may be Charles but what the hell we will call him Bruce, we will make our own Divine Name.

Since when is something made acceptable just because a lot of people view it as such?

Celebrating Christmas is widely accepted even by non Christians. Is it reasonable that we accept it? NO !

    יהוה YHVH YeHoVaH (JeHoVaH)

The following is to show you that the form of spelling of the name JEHOVAH is appropriate for God’s name.

As you can see there are Hebrew names that start with a Y but it is common in the English language to change the Y to J. Also you can see in the names that have the prefix ‘Yeho/Jeho’, the vowels E and O are used.

And in the names where the suffix ‘yah/iah’ is used, just as it is common for the Y to become a J, it is also common for the Y to sometimes become an I, but the point here to focus on is that the vowel A is used here in this suffix.

So with vowels E, O, and A in use in these Hebrew names and given the fact of what these names are said to mean, it seems very reasonable that these same vowels would be inserted in the Tetragrammaton-YHVH.

יהושפט Yehoshaphat (Jehoshaphat) [YHVH Is Judge]
יהושע Yehoshua (Jehoshua) [YHVH Is Salvation]
זכריה Zekharyah (Zechariah) [YHVH Has Remembered]
צפניה Tzefanyah (Zephaniah) [YHVH Has Concealed]

    יהוה YeHoVaH (JeHoVaH)

Also something to keep in mind is that when we use the name ‘Jesus’, that is not the name that Mary and Joseph gave/called him…it was actually Jehoshua.

The following is a look at how we arrived at the name Jesus.

יהושע Yehoshua (Jehoshua) shortened form Yeshua (Joshua)
    Greek for Yeshua is Iesous
    Latin for Iesous is Iesus
    English for Iesus is Jesus

Bear in mind that being what that name is said to mean and being that Jesus himself said that he came in the name of his father, then it is reasonable to conclude that there would be some form of the name of his father found in his name.

[John 5:43 I have come in the name of my Father, but YOU do not receive me; if someone else arrived in his own name, YOU would receive that one.]

    JEHOvah >>>>>> JEHOshua

stan livedeath , good point from the Our Father prayer LOL.

The equivalent of Latin to English of the four Hebrew letters was JHVH , however more Biblical studies Including the WTB&TS, ,( can I I say New Light ? ) reveals YHWH is the more correct translation of those 4 Hebrew letters for God`s name .

And they admitted this in the first edition of the "Aid Book " as they said Jehovah was the most widely known and used in The world . Hang on , they claim Christendom has been hiding this name , the Churches don`t use his name , Bible dictionaries , Concordances , Thesis etc.about the Bible , have all concealed the name of God for Centuries

,Hogwash , Bullshit , and just plain lies by the WTB&TS. That name has been widely used in Christendom for Centuries

Many Churches throughout the world have the name Jehovah carved in stone .

The Jehovah`s Witnesses have made more changes on much more insignificant things than the accurate name of God , So one might ask is God`s name insignificant ? Can J.W.`s call him ALLAH ? I don`t think so .

Yet they won`t use the more accurate name for God who they profess to worship.

They claim to be Jehovah`s Witnesses , yet Jehovah may not be his real name ?

And Jehovah`s Witnesses don`t really care
