Jussie Smollett Charges Dropped!!

It seems to me much ado about nothing, to me. What Smollett did was very newsworthy, etc, but on a criminal scale, fairly minor. He has been punished in that he forfeited a bail of $100k, and has to do community service.

I don’t know details of the relevant Chicago legal justice system, but it sounds similar to a procedure that happens in Magistrates Courts in Australia (at least in some states). If the offence is relatively minor, a criminal magistrate may impose a fine and order “no conviction be recorded”. The only difference being that in a Australia, the defendant would have formally pleaded guilty, first, which doesn’t seemed to have happened here.

The article I read tonight regarding the two guys that accused Smollett of paying them, was that they felt betrayed.

    What happens to them?

And it seems like every picture taken of Smollett, shows him with a calculating look on his face. As an actor, you would think he would put on another face.

Once the FBI gets involved, everything will be done above board.😈

I don’t know if it’s a racial issue but I do think someone from on high intervened and I don’t think it was Jehovah.

We'll know that the police charges are true when Jussie's great, great legal team doesn't sue Chicago PD for defamation or slander. If nothing is said, then the fix was in.

The FBI is suspect in this one. Obamas aide called and texted the prosecutor. Before the police arrested mullet or concluded he was a suspect, they were trying to quickly get the police to turn it over to the FBI. I suspect it would have been one of their 'friends' who would have had control then and they would have made the case disappear. Hopefully all of this has put scrutiny on that and any 'friends' have now been foiled.

Mr Smolletts station in life, as well as his race and sexual orientation, definitely all factored into this outcome. He is the perfect storm of problems for the judicial system. The absolute best way for the prosecutors (as well as many others who support/defend him, that have clout) to save face in his case, is to make it go away as quickly and quietly as possible. Yes, it's an uproar now, but because it was dealt with so swiftly, it will all but be forgotten about in the next few months, as the news cycle moves through everything that is to come. As the perfect storm, Jussie and his defenders, will scream bigotry, hate, bias, and victimhood, all because he is black, and gay. That is the circus his attorneys would create, and the media would stir the pot. Those prosecutors would rather take a little egg on their face now than go through months of that circus, and risk him getting off in the end. At least that's my opinion on the matter.

Given what we all know he did, and that instead of just wiping his brow, counting his lucky stars, and slinking off quietly into the shadows, he again spoke out at a news conference, arrogantly proclaiming victory and his innocence, I predict we will see him again, getting himself into trouble. Maybe sooner than later, If he insists on continuing his public statements declaring his innocence and vindication, flying in the face of the Chicago police. I will not be surprised in the least if something harmful to his health "accidentally" crosses his path. Like an acute case of lead poisoning...
