The governing body vermin sees the need to remove the "spirit directed organization" as they once again attempt to use subterfuge so "apostates" can no longer use this against them.

Lest the idiots forget how they attribute just about everything except Trump's presidential win to "Jehovah" in their publications.

False Prophets they are indeed and can easily be proven from any of their publications.

How do you like that governing ladies?

New? Have you repented of your sins, dedicated yourself to Jehovah, and accepted his way of salvation through Jesus Christ?

His Way... Isn't that trying to say that only through obedience to the governing body and acknowledging that they are the only path to life will you be saved ?

Can anyone find the questions that were asked in 1961?

They were, if memory serves, vastly different, and one could easily argue that old baptisms were invalidated by the change in the terms of the old "contract."

Is this for real? Removing mention of “spirit directed”? Bizarre. I can’t think of any practical or theological motive for it.

Interesting to me that Christadelphians baptise people in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

The person conducting the baptism stands over the person being baptised and says: “you (include name) have given a good confession of your faith in Jesus Christ, therefore I hereby baptise you in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost”, followed by baptism. Quite simple.

I found the answer to the question I asked above:

    Watchtower Baptismal Requirements

Prior to 1951 - Baptism as a Christian in any religion, provided by full water immersion. (What Pastor Russell Said pp.35,36)

1955 to 1985 - Baptised by Watchtower Representative to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

1985 onwards - Baptised by Watchtower Representative to Father, Son and the Organization (w85 6/1 p.30)

Baptismal questions from the Watchtower 1956 Jul 1 p.407:

    (1) Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him the Father through his Son Jesus Christ?

    (2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightenment of the holy spirit?"

This was in effect until it was changed in the Watchtower 1966 Aug 1 p.465.

I wonder if this is part of a package of measures acting as a precursor to changing a big doctrinal point, such as 1914 or blood?

They must know, then, that Holy Spirit is not with them, and they know because a) their numbers are seriously dwindling or b) they have deep financial problems or c) Armageddon hasn’t happened, so 1914 was patently wrong.

    What say y’all?

Well, Anointed JW's are no longer the FDS since the Super 8 Guardians of Doctrine have pushed these so called Spirit guided ones to the curb, then the JW Org is no longer Spirit guided. That makes sense, right? ... Right?

    ...Hmmm

    ...Ahhh

    Right?

If we are God’s servants with an earthly hope, we have not been anointed with holy spirit. Nevertheless, we can have just as much of God’s spirit as those with the heavenly hope.

*** w96 6/15 p. 31 Questions From Readers ***Questions From ReadersCan we say that God’s servants today who have the earthly hope have as much of God’s spirit as do spirit-anointed Christians? This question is not a new one. This same matter was addressed in “Questions From Readers” in The Watchtower of April 15, 1952. Many have become Witnesses since then, so we can consider the question and in the process review what that earlier material said.Fundamentally, the answer is, yes, faithful brothers and sisters of the other sheep class can share equally with anointed ones in receiving God’s holy spirit.—John 10:16....The Lord’s spirit is available in equal portions to both classes, and knowledge and understanding are offered equally to both, with equal opportunities for absorbing it.
