JW's Would Stay With The Org Even If 1914 Was Dropped

Trouble is, the 1914 doctrine is the primary basis upon which JW organization's legitimacy rests for it provides the secondary basis, 1919 which is the year they say Christ chose the organization to be his channel.

The only teaching they won't ever change is the no talking to disfellowshiped.

1914 they should have got rid of that long time ago, but I don't see any signs of this happening. On the contrary, the date helps their apocalyptical speech.

On the other hand, I really see them changing something about the anointed class. This week's workbook, in the study Bible note on John 10:16 just says that means "" Jesu's followers would be united" just that. No mention to the other sheep being the great crowd who have a different hope.

This one is so funny. Other people's wrong ideas are "lies". Our wrong ideas are "adjustments".

There have been many adjustments to our understanding of the scriptures. People have been taught lies for centuries. - Mary Crosb

If I could explain the old 1914 it was a small miracle, the new generation thing is way worse. You can always dig out the pyramid chart!

What keeps most "in" and quiet is the shunning. Hard to fade with family still in

Yes whether or not 144000 is a literal number is irrelevent now becsuse only the governing body is the faithfull and discrete slave. So we can have as many or few anointed as you like, since they dont affect snything.

1919 which is the year they say Christ chose the organization to be his channel.

That too was self promotional bullshit , Jesus wouldn't choose false apostate Prophets as his earthly chosen organization or the people who were engaged in this kind of damming sin.

The effects of 1914 (not the wt errors), the war, the "peace" the flu, still reverberate in many families today. But

even for the 104+ year olds, born then, it has lost its meaning, and the new generation covers it ears if anything like that is mentioned. 1914 could die a quiet death, and it would not affect the wt bottom line, nor affect the decline of true believer membership , much. imho.

Pull the 1914 thread, and the garments come undone... I'm sure they will do it, but it's a messy job

The WTS in its overall history as a religious publishing house was an exercise in religious freedom offered to the American citizens in that country's created Constitution.

......and the WTS leaders used that freedom to its fullest to created their own subsequent power and money.

Jehovah's people certainly perceived the beginnings of "The Sign". True, certain ones were presumptuous and attached a date.

Evidently Jehovah determined more time would pass and things were going to get much worse, before the end would come.
