Yea all that typical/anti-typical sh*t was from the wild imagination of "Mad Freddy", the Oracle of Brooklyn. Lot of the crap had an expiration date so it had to be thrown out like spoiled milk! It was all 'make believe' just like the bible!

    just saying!

But that seems to be the whole history of Watchtower - a mad loon gets the reigns of power, comes up with something loopy....then later (when he's dead) they have to scrub it!

First it was Russell and his pyramids, then Rutherford and his "millions living will never die", then mad Freddy....what's next? Probably AntMo iii and his ravings...(in the year 2080 when everyone wears a tight technical fabric suit that changes it's properties according to temperature)

5-1-99 WT - When the “scarlet-colored wild beast” attacks the religious harlot, “the disgusting thing” will be standing in a menacing way in Christendom’s so-called "Holy place". * So desolation will begin on faithless Christendom, which portrays itself as holy.]

    Just found a plot hole!

They say "so-called" because they don't want to admit Christendom HAS a Holy place. But that's not what the Bible says. It says "HOLY PLACE". Therefore " Christendom" must have, or be, a "Holy place", period.

Too bad watchtower! Another corner you've painted yourself into!!

Quote- They say "so-called" because they don't want to admit Christendom HAS a Holy place. – end quote

No, you are missing the point. The WTS has always known that the ‘holy place' represents Jehovah's people…and being that they (WTS) claim that JWs are Jehovah's people, then they know the 'holy place' represents them.

The problem for them (WTS/GB) that they had is that they know that connected to the disgusting thing coming into the holy place is judgment from Jehovah upon them and this is a future occurrence.

But being that they have tried to convince JWs to believe that they were judged back in 1918/19, they had to shift this future judgment (and others) to Christendom, that's why they say ‘so-called' holy place.

But now since they changed and say that they no longer view Christendom as the antitype Jerusalem, etc…that means that in all places where they had shifted the negative future prophesies to apply to Christendom, they now indirectly admit they apply to JWs.

    johnamos,

Yes, that's the kind of thing I meant when I said that the new GB don't think things out. They make a major doctrinal change without even considering such notions as future potential problems with their new view or interpretation. Duhhhh!
