  In ten years they won't exist as we know them. There'll be a small core of die-hards living in secluded compounds and several splinter groups that go more mainstream. The die-hards will still put out literature, only not from the printing facilities in Brooklyn which will either be sold or seized. The Watchtower and Awake? of that time will be cheap flyers that are a mix of those wacky tracts that Fundies hand out, wild conspiracy theories, and the same few scriptures they've been wearing out for the last 100 years.

  They also won't be going door-to-door in 10 years so the "do more" part will be only about money.

  La Capra: The 100-year anniversary or "birthday" of the WT was about 1989. They did have a birthday party of sorts, but by invitation only. One of the National Magazines (I'm thinking it was Time) had an article about just that fact -- that the org did not believe in celebrating birthdays but had chosen to celebrate its own by inviting an elite corps of insiders to a large gathering in Pennsylvania or New York, or someplace on the east coast. Was anyone here invited?
