Who compelled Sword to come to this Board, who compelled yourself to?
There is a fundamental fact that you both need to consider and that you have not as yet done. The fact is that many of us have been there, seen it, researched, studied it, questioned it, researched some more, then questioned again and again. Then we drew conclusions in the cause of honesty that often meant facing some very uncomfortable circumstances and for many of us our whole lives turned upside down overnight. Some lost their health, their families, their employment, the only friends they had. Can you not see how easy it would have been for them to remain in the 'system', rather than standing up for what they believed to be right. Some of the most courageous people I have met have surfaced on this Board.
People like SwordOfJah, who come to this forum with virtually no humility but who view themselves as some sort of latter day Phineas defending truth and honor, have no right to whine at their treatment when they reflect contempt for the people they choose to associate with. Just click on Sword's posting history and you will see that he does not even attempt to disguise his disgust with people who post to this forum many of whom are very much his better in many ways but especially where critical thinking and Biblical research is concerned.
Today he quoted from the ‘Proclaimers’ book in his defense. Was he aware that the chief researcher of that book, Barbara Anderson, was disfellowshipped last year for trying to protect the innocent little Jehovah’s Witness children from a policy that is a clear danger to them? Where was his sense of justice then?
In my long life as a Jehovah’s Witness I served as an elder for decades, a Special Pioneer, and temporary Circuit Overseer. I served where the need was greater in dismal circumstances for over fifteen years. I have spoken at many assemblies, been assigned on special work in overseas Bethels. I have seen death and life and too much pain and heartache. A specialist in prison work and translation, I rubbed shoulders with members of the JW hierarchy that most JW’s fawn over. I am not writing these things to boast, in fact quite the contrary, I am ashamed of my efforts in helping to propagate the interests of an Organization who long ago lost sight of the Christian virtues extolled by Christ in his Sermon on the Mount. I am listing my history to show persons like yourself and Sword that many of us made great sacrifices in the cause of truth, justice and honesty and we too would like to be shown the same respect that you both expect. Sword has referred to persons on this Board as ‘fools’, and guilty of ‘wicked reasonings’ and yet has provided no evidence in his arguments that he himself is not guilty of the very things that he accuses others of. Let it be known, that until he does so, his views will be fair game on this Board.
