Are the thousands of witnesses to Sai Baba's miracles mistaken?

    Red herring argument, cofty.

More than testimony from the product user needed to validated. Did he resurrect anybody?

Yes of course he did. At least lots of people say he did.

And you don't have to rely on an old book that is a copy of a copy of a copy written a generation after the events,, you can interview them.

Why won't you believe them, they have no reason to lie.

You equate the Bible with this guy. They are not the same.

Millions are convinced that Joe Smith was given the book of Mormon, Billions believe that M0hammed was given the Kor€n but how does this have any effect whatsoever on the validity of the Bible even if those beliefs are not true? The internal substance of the Bible substantiates it as credible.

    Here are just two examples.

    Walter Cowans, American tourist,
    Christmas Day in 1971.
    Madras

    Witnesses ....

    • Dr. John Hislop, a former professor and corporate executive, now retired and living in Mexico,
    • Elsie Cowans, wife
    • Mrs Ratan Lal family friend
    • Judge Damadar Rao of Madras

Mr. V. RadhaKrishna, factory owner and a well known citizen in Kuppam India
    1953
    Puttaparthi

    Witnesses...

    • wife
    • daughter Vijaya
    • son in law Mr. Hemchand
    • Male nurse
    • Multiple other locals who begged the wife to remove the body that was becoming putrid by the third day

Just two of many examples of astonishing miracles by the Swami with multiple witnesses. Why is their testimony worth less than an ancient book that contains contradictions and appalling moral edicts?

A group of six devotees had come to have darshan of Baba from Australia . Baba called them for a private interview.

During the normal course of the talk, Baba looked at one of the devotees and asked -- “Why did you come now. Your mother is not well. She needs you there back in Australia” .

He replied saying-- “Yes Baba, I called home yesterday night and this news was conveyed to me. I pray for her early recovery.”

    Baba replied --

Go home soon. She is asking for you. In fact go home now.”

So saying, Baba created a map of the world with the wave of the hand. He spread it on the wall and the following conversation took place : --

BABA : “Where is Australia in this map ?”

Devotee : “Here, Baba .” (Pointing to the map).

Baba touched it and the world map changed into an Australian map.

BABA : “Where in Australia do you say ?”

Devotee : “New South Wales, Baba .” (pointing to the map).

Baba touched it and the Australian map changed into the map of New South Wales.

BABA : “Where in New South Wales do you say ?”

When the devotee mentioned the place, Baba touched it and the chart changed to show all the apartments in the area.

Then Baba touched the house in which the man was staying and lo! the wall of the interview room became the door of the devotee’s home. Baba opened the door and showed the man his mother sleeping on the sofa. Baba called the man and asked him to go in and closed the door. He rubbed his hands on the door and the door became the wall of the interview room again!

Later when the Australians came out of the interview room, only five came out instead of the six who went in. The students of Prashanthi Nilayam campus saw this. Later they called back the man who was sent to Australia only an hour later, who confirmed his ‘safe arrival’.

The Bible records miracles such as resurrections, angels, prophecy and destructive acts of God to mention a few. Are these all a pack of lies?

Lies. Misgivings. Credulity. Who knows? Just because a book says something, doesn't make it true. Especially when there is no conclusive evidence.

It's a big grift that religious leaders, including Watchtower Corporation(tm) are using to exploit people for money and power.

    How do you explain them?

I don't. No more than I explain any story from yonks ago. Did King Arthur or Robin Hood actually exist?

    I am convinced they happened.

Good for you. Some of us are more sceptical.

The reason to be sceptical of claims is indeed the example of the Shirdi Sai Baba grift.

Cofty, immaterial. The subject is the Bible miracles.
