Irreverent in the Hospital

Thanks everyone for your comments and well wishes. Irreverent, my dear hubbie, met with the rhythm doctor who feels that medication is not required at this time. He meets with his GP and cardiologist tomorrow to see when he can go home. His heart rate is still around 105 but the doctors are not concerned about that. A pacemaker and other surgery cannot correct his condition. Hopefully, his heart will go back to its original condition on its own. Otherwise, he has to decrease the stress in his life. It has been a difficult year, fading from the WTS and other unexpectedly economic pressures. He said the last time he felt like he did recently was after an elders' meeting where he was ripped into (undeservedly).

    Thanks from Blondie and Irreverent.

    Blondie, don't sweat it overmuch.

About six years or so ago, I had premature ventricular contractions, and I mean I had them every 30 seconds or so and they might last for a minute or two. I swear I thought I was dying. I would get lightheaded, 'cause the pumping action of the heart is disturbed because of the pvc's. Well I went to a cardiac specialist and he gave me some medication. This was just before thanksgiving. I took the medication as if it were a religion. Then, for Christmas, we went to Miami to visit my wife's folks (we were living in Atlanta at the time) and I forgot to take the medication with me. I was terrified that I was going to have the pvc's all over again. However, whatever that drug was going to do, it did it between thanksgiving and christmas. I never did finish taking that prescription, and I've not had any further trouble with the pvc's either.

It's amazing what effects can be had with the right cardiac medication. I feel sure that your husband will be OK, as well. Do let us know?

How scary! For the both of you!

I truly enjoyed speaking to both of you on the phone last weekend and regret that we didn't get to meet in person. I am greatly relieved that Irreverent seems to be on his way home soon and that others here have assured us that life can go on quite nicely despite this instance of arrythmia. (That there is no blockage is wonderful! )

Thanks all for your comments and well wishes. I printed them off and it put a big smile on my hubbie's face when he read them.

His heart rate is down to 70 and he hasn't had any tachardia (sp?) spells for 2 days. His blood pressure is going up now too around 120/70 on a regular basis. It is possible that he can go home Monday or Tuesday. He was scheduled to start a new job on Monday, what a world, eh? His new boss sent a nice card. Hopefully, irreverent will be back to work on Wednesday.

We have to make a few adjustments at home. Spring is here and the yard needs attention. We plan on buying a riding mower. I will be doing more of the physical work until he gets the go ahead. We are just so happy that we still have each other.

    What a great attitude!

    All the best,
