The last time I was in Canada, I ran out of Canadian money and the US money was gladly accepted. Very gladly accepted.
Should the US & Canada use the same currency?
Are you saying that Valis is the Queen?
No worries Robdar, the person who normally is depicted on the Canadian $100 bill is our former Prime Minister: BORDEN.
No queen. She's on the $20 and the $1000 regrettably.
I'd take Valis or even you...any day
I don't believe in becoming unevenly yoked with neo-Marxists, thank you.
LOL - I feel honoured now Francois .
We're lovable neo-Marxists however.
Now...if we could only get rid of Liz (queen) on our coins/paper money, then I'd be happy and we as a country would be more complete. You have Queen Lizzie on your currency? Why? Englishman.
Good grief! So you do. I'm astonished.
Englishman - no offense, I thought you may have known that. But anyways, yes, it's true, I'm afraid.
On our $20 bill and $1000 - she's there. And, on all our coins (reverse side).
Part of the Commonwealth association and loyalty to the crown at one time. It's embedded into our constitution also. Some of us would like that to change, to reflect the present.
I have a feeling, that once Liz is gone...she's gone off of our money, and perhaps then we can get with the program, and become a republic.
We'll see...we'll see.
I'm hoping by the time I turn 50, things will be changing, and we can place important Canadian women on our currency. Posthumously honouring our more significant contributors to our country's history.
But...if they put Mouthy on the currency, I'd be fine with that.
i cant remember if the canadian dollar is linked to the US dollar, but if it is, i'd want to change to using the Euro pretty quick.
The two ($2) bill you see, is gone....kaput! finished!
We have a coin now. It's called, no surprise: the Twonie (too-knee).
The $2 bill was replaced in February 1996.
In 1999 - the Canadian government circulated far and wide, a coin depicting the new Inuit territory of: NUNAVUT, with an Inuit person depicted on the front of the coin (queen on reverse) .
E-man, I'm going to find a pic of the Twonie. BRB
