So which religious members get happier when there is bad news? They almost have a religious orgasm when people die coupled with a dash of destruction.

so I guess steve2 would not do anything if it were to happen? I keep hearing from the alternate web they are not really doing anything about human rights , instead they have human trafficking , child sex slave rings, drug cartels , most member countries are muslim , they have made noise on attacking Israel unilaterally , erdogan from turkey from what I read was advocating it , of course not everything is true on the web and i don't speak arabic . Really how long can a human rights organization ignore the RCC priests and their pedophilia ?

Unfortunately organizations like the WTS perpetuate human ignorance.

Fear and ignorance gets passed on to others all in a presentation of " Truth "

    SOUR GRAPES:

That’s a cliche with Witnesses and they are damn wrong. Maybe what they are referring to is sexual immorality which they are hung up on.

They’re lucky they live in a Western country where they can get away with criticizing the government that provides them with freedom. Stupid ingrates.

Even though it’s not perfect, I’m glad I’m living in these modern times as opposed to ages past....And, as a woman, I’m glad I live in the West and am independent. I’m my own boss. I feel sorry for women in other places.

As was mentioned, at least we have antibiotics now. I wonder if many of us would have made it to adulthood without them?

There's some next-level irony in using free speech in a country that protects free speech to - essentially - denigrate said country and - internally - suppress free speech.

Life prior to the current period of time was pretty good if you were

    -- white

    -- wealthy

    -- male

    -- healthy

    -- relatively young

-- happened to get along with whatever government was ruling

Life for the other 99.5% was pretty dismal, at least in the western world.

Anyone who has read more than 50 pages in any history book should be able to figure that out.

Virtually anyone alive today who is at least one step above "abysmal abject gut-wrenching hopeless poverty" lives better than 99.5% of the earth's population over the prior 10,000 years did.

    @ steve2...

Well, when Fred Franz was crafting the Org's eschatology, I suppose the UN's "role" was more believable.

The idea didn't even really originate with him; it has its origins in the cross-pollination of evangelicalism and McCarthyism. Significant portions of the UN's charter having were drafted by European socialists, so the rhetoric resonated with people who had right-wing leanings and were suspicious of those trends.

It's also (partly) why the USSR was cast as the "King of the North".

Over on the Kim Mikey youtube channel there is a new video posted just today. It's about is the preaching work over. Kim mentions that it's the same old drivel from the 1968/69 vintage.
