    G'day all,

How's this weekend faring? Today Mrs Ozzie and I have been to our second Xmas end-of-year party of the season. Food good, beer OK, but no shiraz! Oh well, you can't have everything!

So, now we're inside away from the bright sunshine we can have what the Scots would call "a wee poll".

This weekend's poll question recognises the time of year, with the pagan celebrations getting closer.

Are you ready to send in your replies? Good.

    This week's question is:

What part of Christmas did you always like as a Dub?

    1. Christmas pudding.

    2. Houses all lit up.

    3. Christmas cards

    4. Mince pies

    5. Christmas dinner

    6. Getting some presents (and we didn't have to buy any!)

    7. The parties!

    8. Kissing under the mistletoe

    9. Hearing "Happy Christmas" at the doors!

    10. Offering the special Christmas issue of The Watchtower

    11. Nothing

    12. Hated it, it was pagan after all.

    13. Holiday from work

    14. The carols

    15. Watching the Christmas service on TV (tut-tut!!!)

    16. Other (please detail)

    Enjoy.

    Cheers, Ozzie

Ozzie, what is "shiraz"? Pardon my Yankee ignorance.

    2. Houses all lit up

    13. Holiday from work

while wishing for: 8. Kissing under the mistletoe.

I hated it! All the worldly people were so happy, and with family, and having fun. I wanted to join, but couldn't, I was a staunch witness. This time of year., I felt miserable! I wasn't happy as a dub, but this time of year, I was downright depressed.

    G'day Gopher,

Sorry you've been missing out on life's little pleasures!

Shiraz is the nectar of the gods, often imbibed by wine afficionados.

    Cheers, Ozzie

    Ozzie,

In answer to your poll, I personally have always enjoyed.......

16 ~ Other (Seeing people make the effort to be "good" and "cheerful" despite all differences.)

13 ~ Holiday from work (And since I didn't celebrate X-mas, I would be the one who volunteered to work on that holiday in order to make triple time $$$ . FYI - I once worked for an international airline.)

14 ~ Carols (I probably memorized more of them than "Kingdom" songs.)

I always enjoy your posts! Keep them coming!

    Ozzie,

    I loved numbers 1,2,3,4,5, 6 and 13,14,15

It always held a magical appeal even though I knew I was supposed to hate it.

I also worked over Xmas & Boxing day and earned a packet.

I always loved the Christmas Trees. But we had to call them evergreens.

2,13,14, 16 - christmas trees, especially loved going to my grandmothers that time of year because I could stare at the tree and know my parents were in another room and couldn't see me.
