  Princess Diana was my mother's 4th cousin.

  Benedict Arnold was my great great great grandmother's first cousin.

  Lydia Pinkham was my great grandmother's first cousin. (Lydia Pinkham was famous in the 1800's for her Medicinal compound for women's ailments)

  Aaron Burr was my 8th cousin.

  Grover Cleveland was my 4th cousin.

  (Aren't you glad you asked someone who does genealogy research?)

  My Dad was in the navy with Victor Mature. (young ones say "Who?")

  I went to school with a girl whose aunt was Jane Powell. (young ones again say "Who?")

  My brother went to high school with Dyan Cannon. My cousin went to the same school, and Kate Nelligan was in her class.

  Pursued by the American army for having defied the authority of the Government, the Sioux tribe occupied the important areas of the hills of Montana. During the summer of 1876, the army surrounded them by three sides. In June, General Custer, leading the 7th Cavalry, encountered a large Indian camp. Ordering many of his soldiers to position themselves near the Indians, he and his 300 men began a direct attack. To their surprise, Sitting Bull and his tribe retaliated with great force and not one of Custer's soldiers survived to recount the adventure.

  Somehow I'm related to the deceased English actor Ralph Richardson. My Dad told me that. Not sure if he's right.

  Hi Ruby,

  Did you hear about the artist that was comissioned to paint a picture depicting the last thoughts of General Custer? After about six months the museum called him up to see if he had finished, and he was through with it. They came down to see it and this is what they saw: There was a lake and all around it there were bushes. In the center of the lake were two fish jumping out of the water, they had a sort of glow surrounding them. All around the lake under the bushes were two sets of feet, one set pointing up and the other pointing downward. The museum man couldn't understand how this depicted his thoughts right before he was attached.

  He explained: Holy mackerel, look at all those f**king Indians.
