Odrade that's funny, everything is capped except "i' which should be !

I remember my mother saying she was going to get a computer a few years before she passed, which she never did. I don't know if they were using them for Dub stuff back then but I know someone in the Cong put that idea in her head, she never would've thougt of buying one unless they told her something she could do or look up on the computer. I told her don't ask me to show you how to use it, it would be like teaching Edith Bunker.

DATA-DOG, great picture! I had forgotten that one. That guy is Bro. Serna (Cerna?). Patterson Bethelite. He and his wife were at the Branch in Mexico. He provides technical support to translation teams. His wife was in a picture not too long ago, decorating a Christmas tree "at work".

Odrade, DAMN!! Where has you avatar been all my life!! LOL!!

Here is the best thing about Roku. My child ( who I am not caring for "spiritually" ) thinks Roku is great. Why??? All the Japanese anime channels!! She has zero interest in the 144,000 Club.

Never heard of it? Roku boxes have been around for a long time and are by a far margin the best selling internet box thing for TVs. It's free to make a channel for it so that's why tv.jw.org uses it.

Not particularly pleased with Roku, but it has it's nitch. Used to not work well until I replaced my router. What the hell was it doing that it was outside the range of normal internet traffic? The littlest things it'd tell me there's no internet connection. I'd go reconnect, then have to start all over finding the show I was on.

I'm used to watching Netflix on my PS3. The Roku interface seems SO bad in comparison. And so many of these channels are BS. You think of a channel as being like a TV station, but it's not at all like that. You've got a few videos dumped out there. You see Disney on the box but in reality, it's like the extras on the DVD, not the movie itself.

New router works better. I know. Almost anything on Roku is probably available for free on the internet. And I could watch on my laptop. Right now, it's in my son's room hooked up to his TV and he can watch netflix. It's a lot more convenient to have it hooked up to the TV.

Tonight for Black Friday, they had Roku's available for $28 and the Google version for $25. So it's a one-time fee unless you buy extras. So that's not a terrible price to pay.

I was buying one off the target website the other day for my DIL for Christmas and there was a review that said something about being able to get JW.O. I suppose that person is counting service time via royalties every time someone reads his review.

I’m cutting and pasting from an email about this very topic:

When I went to visit my parents Saturday, it was like a scene from 1984.

My parents are TV addicts. They have that blasting all the time, even when they are doing other things. Well, with the new Dub TV and help from Roku, they can have that going ALL the time. It permeated everything…it was hard to think through it. It was constantly going, constantly streaming.

I hate to say it but the Borg came up with a good idea. It is a constant source of brainwashing…even when it’s not being watched, it’s in the background, seeping into the subconscious. All JW.org, all the time. There is no way of reasoning with a person under that spell. It is eerie seeing it being used like that.

They told me of the big screen TVs installed in the Kingdom Halls. My father remarked how he’d never thought he’d see the day.
