The problem is there is no demarcation between one tribulation and the next and we don't even know if there are TWO tribulations or if everything Jesus said about his generation would happen in ONE tribulation.

If the sun and moon did not give their light that would be an astrological event of huge importance and it would have been documented.

There was only one tribulation. He was talking to those who were standing in front of him. He also said it was one time only and would NEVER be repeated. The tribulation was what the 1st century followers witnessed

Yes he did gather his elect .What is written is mostly hyperbole symbolic metaphor languagh that people used in those days to describe things. He did come back for them as he promised. They rule with him in hevaen and have done since then. The work ofthe Holy SPirit goes on drwaing all men back to God. Its still free will to accept him or not when he calls on us. Most reject him. Many dont and he dwells within as King, which has done through all the generations since the 1st century. What is going to happen is that the Lord will be made manifest, a reveiling or unveiling will take place, itall happens withing EVERY person. Beleivers and unbelievers. It is not dont outwardly. He doe snot dwell in man made temples.Your body is his temple not anything made of bricks and mortar. We cna keep on resisting him through pride or for the love of thie thingsof this world. But the true joy is being one with him, him in us, us in him. This is the Mystery of the ages.Christ is in us. Peace and Love

Yep, as much as they always try to rationalize and explain away what Jesus really meant, nothing can change the hard fact that everything Jesus promised would come to pass, just hasn't happened. Supposedly his sacrifice was of such great value, but after 2,000 years of people still dying, and evil still existing, the point could be made that the check never cleared.

Additionaly Jesus was one of the most irresponsible and hypocritical teachers ever. Why do people still put up with this nonsense in the year 2014?

Matt 6:33 - But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 10:34. "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 "For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law'; 36 "and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.'

Proof #39 - Realize that Jesus was a jerk

Dr. Daniel Wallace is still working on the "Mark Fragment", there are six that are suppose to date to the First Century. Sources close to the owner of these fragments are not letting any information out. Dr. Wallace is not allowed to speak about them, the rumor is the owner had no idea how valuable these fragments of the Gospel of Mark are and is holding out. Dr. Wallace has said he is totally convinced and he has had Paleography Experts also agree they are First Century writings.

After two years since their annoucement it's still silence, I think who ever owns them is holding out for a large cash donation and won't put them on display until he get's what he wants. It's hush! hush! according to a source, let's see what happens.

It is possible that Mark, or parts of it, were in fact written before the destruction of the Temple, Marks Gospel seeming to be the main source for "Matthew".

These fragments, even if more or less proven to be 1st Century could still be a later 1st century copy, a copy that may have been tampered with, we do know that Mark was edited/redacted and of course a Conclusion was added decades after it was first penned.

Assuming Marks' Gospel was the earliest of the Four, it was written down by someone not an eyewitness, years after the death of "Jesus", the Agenda of the writer is to be considered, plus the accuracy of the oral witness he has received, as well as how much fiction he himself introduces.

We still have no way of knowing, and in my opinion never will have, any way of knowing what "Jesus" actually ever said.

For that reason, debate about his ability as a prophet is somewaht pointless.
