Thanks Atlantis. I was a lovely little boy when Freedom of Sons of God was first released. Reading the tracts from that era - 1960s - brought back memories of how "out there" Jw propaganda was. I felt a mixture of nostalgia (!) and revulsion about the huge play on emotions with messages that purported to be reason-based. Back then we absolutely believed in the significance of 1914 and that the end was breathing right down our obedient little necks. Oh, the Informant from 1948 is an even earlier blast from the past, illustrating that supposedly reason-based religious mania grows legs and crosses from generation to generation to generation to generation. Powerful reminders of how susceptible humans are to delusion, religious ones on particular.
