In my limited circle of current JWs, I believe this thread is right.
Talked with an elderly JW last night, been in since the 1940s. Ten years ago, the Governing Body was God's channel to this person. Now, it's "they make a lot of mistake. Elders are too quick to disfellowhip. Elders don't know what they are doing. Bethel makes a ton of mistakes. Mistakes. Stopped giving. Mistakes....." . . . . followed by "I'm just going to leave it all in Jehovah's hands. He knows right from wrong."

That's okay; the GB is becoming more and more enamoured with themselves these days, anyway.
The only reason I would like to go back to an assembly is to make it a big deal about the credit card machines ... lol, but then I think ... NAHHHH ...
It would be funny to see a guy dressed like Jesus oveturning the tables with the credit card machines....
And she still believes in 'the Organisation'.
Even if it's all wrong, it's still the "Best Way of Life".
Plus, it's not a bad idea to keep one foot in the door. . . . . just in case they ARE right.

To quickly Summarize : The Primary reason given for us to Trust the Faithful & Discreet Slave,is that Jesus Trusted them and appointed them over all of his Belongings Including the Great Crowd, in 1919.
The NEW Understanding tells us that the Faithful & Discreet Slave IS NOT appointed over all of his Belongings until the Great Tribulation.
According to the Organized Book - "The First and Foremost Reason to Trust " THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE " is Jesus has appointed them over all his precious "belongings." This is a clear indication that he has complete trust in them."

Rock on, Magnum. A great many Witnesses used to follow current events in the world and actually knew the Bible pretty well. They could have interesting conversations about doctrine within a context of loyalty. And they used a variety of Bibles.
Not anymore. A stroll thru the ocean of these souls would scarcely get your feet wet.
Here's a question: does the Faithful Slave change to 8 old guys cause particular problems?
It seems to me that the Faithful Slave used to be nebulous and now, it specifically focuses on 8 old guys. They're it. The whole thing. I wonder if that changes the dynamics.

They used to be old and speak with funny accents (Klein) and say things you couldnt really understand (Ghengis, Franz) and speak very authoritatively about far away places (Henschel, Jaracz). They would charm and terrify at the same time (Sydlick).
Nowadays they just seem to be guys that never get out, got married way too old, and just dont get it.

Could someone please write the GB advising them of their followers' apathy and indifference toward them.
