I was born in and forced to associate with them. If allowed freedom of association, I never would have been 'friends' with them. It's a relief not to have to pretend that I like them, respect them, or want to be around them.
I say amen to this.
I have lot of family in, both parents and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. I have faded and I'm very open about my beliefs...but my family still will communicate with me. They think they are encouraging with remarks like, no matter what you have done, you can come back to Jehovah. This and other type of JW statements causes the divide....but, because I'm no longer in the evangelism business, I don't even give them the satifaction of trying to refute or defend my choice of life. I just let them know it was good seeing them and look for someone that I enjoy having conversation with.
