I have often wondered why the WTBTS hasn't told JW's not to go to Disneyland. After all it is the "Magic Kingdom" right? JW's can't celebrate anything that is or could be remotely pagan in origin, right? But something that promotes or that is even remotely associated with magic is okay. right? Just another example of stupid reasoning (unreasoning).

    eyeuse,

I've used the Disneyland analogy a million times. They produce DVD's for kids telling them 'they can't be Jehovah's friend' if they have a magician doll..............but they can go to Disneyland??????

Their hypocrisy and gross stupidity knows no bounds.....

Tried smoking a joint on the ride when we were 18. Figured it would be dark, who would see us? Had the front seat. They were shaped like clamshells so we thought no one would see us. Half way through the ride the seats turn sideways. Forgot the smoke was blowing behind us. Startled, we looked behind us only to see everyone looking forward. I guess the JW's were right.........

Disney's Haunted House is okay, but Harry Potter rides at Universal Studios are an abomination. I know so many JWs who turn their noses up at Universal Studios because of the Harry Potter rides. It's ridiculous.

What's really demonic about Disneyland is the price of drinks and pickles. I can resist the drinks, but the Dill Pickles are too awesome.

Maybe The GB doesn't ban Disneyland, because, hey, they like to go too. lol

In "old" news. Back in Sept 1959, Nikita Khrushchev came from Russia to America. He flew into Los Angeles and was grandly escorted to Hollywood. During a star studded luncheon there, he mentioned he wanted to go to Disneyland. His security could not be guaranteed and so his request, was denied. He was furious, as he had a right to be. A world leader... denied ... anything ?

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, is fun.

The Wizard of Oz is a terrible and frightening movie for children. The GB has never banned it. Maybe they like seeing that movie too? lol

Maybe they didn't like the blue Smurf's, so they banned them.

Maybe they didn't like Harry Potter, so they banned him too.

Maybe they didn't like Samatha twitching her nose in "Bewitched" but it was OK to look at "I Dream of Jeannie" in her cute 2 piece costume.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are a man made, make up the rules and flip flop doctrines as they go along, high control, dictator ruled religion.

I feel sorry for the people still in it wasting their lives.

I had witnesses tell me that Harry Potter was demonized because the humans had magic but the Hobbit/LOTR was okay because humans did have magic.

Disneyland opened in 1955 and Disney World in 1971, so a vast majority of jws were children then and it was considered wholesome by them as children and as parents.

Blondie my first time was in 1956. The Flying Dumbo ride was down that day. I loved Dumbo and felt so disappointed.

NCC-1701 At $3.00 per icy cold pickle, that is expensive. I haven't had one, but I heard they are delicious.

I had my first frozen banana there in the 1960's. Yum. lol

I asked why Disney was okay, the first ride I went on was Snow White and when the witch jumped out I was frozen...it was night, the last ride of the day and I still remember it 50 years later. The first Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty, when the dragon fought Prince Charming I was on the floor.

Hypocritical is too tame a word for their viewpoint. It is why you can't tie down the rules, they are always changing, and apply to some and not to others.
