What about Elijah the necrophiliac pedophile. He lies ontop of a dead boy to rresurerect him. v34.

    2Kings

4:32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead , and laid upon his bed.
4:33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.
4:34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
4:35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times , and the child opened his eyes.

4:36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

Just another of the many Bullshit stories of the Bible told to show the strength and power

of people who were Prophets or said seers to God Yahweh.

It creates not only a semblance of power of those mortal spiritual seers but of their particular God as well.

Perhaps the jw pedophiles shold claim they were curing any kids they rape, after all Elijah was a prophet who went to heaven, the bible says so.

Goes to show once again that Yahweh hates kids, he's always whacking them or giving praise and

admonishment for those who kill kids themselves.

Whats the big deal about emphasising they were "SHE " bears ?, because we all know "HE" bears wouldnt do such a thing.

The Bible loves racial and sexist stereotypes, its so empowering when you belong to the right group.

It sounds like one of those stories which grew with the telling. A couple of bears come and kill some kids. Elisha may have been nearby when it happened. Now in a society where people believed everything bad was punishment from God rather than the result of natural processes we now understand, it would have been easy for a 'prophet' to say "God killed the kids," just like some priest today who might say "Your baby died because God wanted another angel in heaven". As the story is told and retold, the details blur and people elaborate, and it goes from a few kids who may have been killed by a rogue bear to 42 kids who got killed by two bears as punishment from YHWH because they called the prophet names.

Later generations of parents could have used this story to frighten kids, like saying the boogieman is going to get them if they don't eat their vegetables.

I like the aetiologies that deal with volcanism, earthquakes, tectonics. Like the Great Flood was a regional symptom of a local flood, perhaps a memory of a glacial lake outburst flood that got culturally transported, the crossing of the Red Sea was a symptom of tectonic activity that uplifted some area that was under water. Pillars of smoke by day, pillars of fire by night - all these visual images can be given little wheels to roll around ahead of you, behind you, once you get down to writing your 'imma chosen people' national best seller. Disaster is the party application in the hands of an author on a soapbox.

The story is telling everyone to obey gods representatives otherwise you will die. Virtually every story has this motivation behind the scenes.
