IIRC, it goes back to the 50s and 60s (respectively) for the watchtower and awakes. I don't think they have any books or tracts or anything older than that.

Well, if they released "Life's Water, Free" over the Internet, they would make $0 dollars profit. DOH. Remember, they have to stay in business, people! Yet another evidence that this is just a glorified business operation, not a theocratic BOrganization like they like to make out.

It really is such an amazingly beautiful series of interlocking systems that comprise what a human is. It's too bad we're working backwards from the object code, everything would be simpler with the source and a comment or three thrown in.

"Well, a 3 to 5-disk commercial encyclopedia typically runs around $30, and is complete with multimedia presentations, illustrations, and pictures. Straight text libraries are generally free."

Exactly ... most 'archive' type stuff is free for the plain information - what you pay for with Encarta is the slick multimedia presentation, the packaging, the advertising and the shop shelf space.

None of this is 'in the price' of the WTS CD's ...

Yeah, I'd love to get my hand on a copy, my last copy was 97. Since I have a lot of books and "thingy's" in my library. As time allows, I have been scanning them into pdf files. I've done these with the current Watchtowers and Awake, just to keep for my record, it's better than having them on the shelf taking up space.

What about the free software on front of computer magazine. Some give away almost new software, 1.2a because version 1.2b is in the shops.

Since most of the WT cdrom contains old publications, shouldn't they give WTCDROM away for the cost of the CD+Packaging?

LOL @ $50 ..... I fell for that one too, once!

it is even easier to copy now because the new version can be installed on your HD and run without CD. so... just borrow it from someone and your home free!!
